Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Being a Navy brat, I grew up in a few places, but most of my kinfolk were Vestal hoodlums.
I grew up in Colonial Village, about 2-3 miles from Vestal.

One of my "fondest" memories from working in that store, where several of my "colleagues" were local hoodlums:

One Friday night, two of the other guys got into a fight in the salad dressing aisle, and one of them grabbed a bottle of Seven Seas Thousand Island Dressing - a glass bottle - and cracked the other one over the head. Fun times.

I also remember my Dad having to tow me home with a rope from Vestal (with his Studebaker station wagon) on my Suzuki 305 after the engine locked up, presumably after some hood dumped sugar in the gas tank.

No doubt there is a correlation in there.

On the other hand, I tried to give my wife one of my few remaining 3M, N95 masks yesterday (used to buy them in boxes of 10 on Amazon, last time was about a year ago) to wear on her grocery outings, but she's like "No, we need them at the warehouse [for when we drum catalysts that are quite dusty], you keep it."

And she's way smarter than me. (Fortunately, in a lower risk category as well.)

I read on LinkedIn this week that the N95 mask was invented at UT. I had never heard that before. Can anyone confirm?

I know it’s been posted multiple times already, but when did Trump convene the Coronavirus task force? Was it sometime in January?

I know it’s been posted multiple times already, but when did Trump convene the Coronavirus task force? Was it sometime in January?

I saw it on TV last night, and I believe it was like Jan 26 iirc. I was kind of surprised it was that early and thus took notice.

Having spent about 30 out the last 40 years of my life in the Houston area, I have become somewhat acclimated.

But every so often I still tell my wife "Let's move somewhere that has mountains" but she's as stubborn as a mule and won't live anywhere that gets snow.

She grew up just outside of Minsk.
Does she **** like one too?

Oh, I thought you said mink.

Longest. Deflection. Ever.

Face it, after 39 months, your expectations of Trump are so low that you thought he deserved credit for staffing a pandemic task force with epidemiologists and actual doctors, instead of Seb Gorka, the hosts of Fox & Friends, and some dental hygienist whose twitter feed looks like your post history.

Think about that while you’re frantically googling new stories to try to deflect from the government brain drain that has taken place during the Dunning-Kruger presidency.

This is how your lunch money constantly ends up in my pocket.

It's not that long, not deflection and speaks directly to your contention that our pandemic expertise was gutted; it's simply not the case. You revert to a childish, informal fallacy - "Fox News!" straw man- rather than attempt to refute the guy who consolidated the directorates.

Next time just yell "racist!".

Spin all you wish.
The response was hampered by Trump's actions, pure and simple.
Or at least according to 95% of the people in a position to know.

I think the guy who actually consolidated the three directorates to be "in a position to know", know why and know what was done.
