I grew up in Colonial Village, about 2-3 miles from Vestal.Being a Navy brat, I grew up in a few places, but most of my kinfolk were Vestal hoodlums.
One of my "fondest" memories from working in that store, where several of my "colleagues" were local hoodlums:
One Friday night, two of the other guys got into a fight in the salad dressing aisle, and one of them grabbed a bottle of Seven Seas Thousand Island Dressing - a glass bottle - and cracked the other one over the head. Fun times.
I also remember my Dad having to tow me home with a rope from Vestal (with his Studebaker station wagon) on my Suzuki 305 after the engine locked up, presumably after some hood dumped sugar in the gas tank.
