It would be nice if people in hardest hit (rural) areas were offered employment in the fields, but I don’t know if our society would tolerate higher prices on goods.

Is it possible for hospitals to set up a clean room for PPE? After use, take it to a room and bombard it with UV light and then reuse. I know it isn't ideal, but if the alternative is not having proper gear it may help.

Not if they are paid. It is a fairly common practice for private companies to contract for prison labor.

Edit: That usually happens on prison grounds in shops, call centers, etc.

There is nothing stopping them from applying for the jobs. And even pickers have to make minimum wage.
