For you people
Here is one that is easy:
1) approx 2 cups fresh fruit plus 1 cup sugar....OR 1 jar of Cracker Barrel fruit in the jar like apples or cherries (I use Comstock cherries - medium can). If using the fresh fruit, macerate for a couple of hours (like strawberry short cake strawberries @rocytop2624 )
2) 1 cup sugar plus 3/4 cup AP flour plus 2 1/8 tsp baking powder plus 1/4 cup salt
3) 1 stick butter melted in a 2 qt baking dish (I use a half stick salted and a half stick unsalted) like you would for cornbread
4) mix batter with 3/4 cup milk and pour into melted butter
5) spoon fruit on top
Bake at 325 for 1 hour (check it at about 50 minutes to make sure you don't over cook it)
If using apples, 5 minutes before end sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top and finish baking
This is awesome.
