Coronavirus (No politics)

I don't think they'll find that hydroxychloroquine by itself is an effective drug vs covid-19. But it very well might be effective when it's combined with a Z-pack. That article doesn't mention anything about a Z-pack
There’s been story after story (first hand accounts) about people that were in very bad shape and then given that combination, and then they’re essentially cured within 3-4 hours. It still takes several days for them to recover, but the virus seems to be headed out at that point.

Generally that makes sense as far as determining what business are open, but it doesn't make sense that only people working in those business should be on the road. Having some of them open - including physicians - makes no sense if people aren't allowed to travel from home to businesses. Besides people apparently have to get out to bring home TP and maybe some groceries. If it gets to the point of checking people driving, then it might appear there are too many cops and overly officious chiefs.
That stuff wouldn’t fly with me, and I’m sure there are many others that would tell them to go away as well. I think most police are going to realize they’d be risking way to much to try that nonsense. Probably pockets of it. Johnson City cops are notorious good ole boys, so I could see them pulling that garbage.

The crazy thing about even starting something like that is how do you enforce it - what's the offense. The other part is that gas prices say there isn't much unnecessary travel going on anyway.

In a way we need a reset . We went way to far into the college for everybody, but without courses of study tied to careers - engineering, medicine, etc. We spent too much time steering a few generations away from generally skilled trades and labor. It was nice having economists etc floating ideas about how we've risen above people working in plants to people developing, maintaining, and programming automation that replaced human labor. The math just doesn't work out if you still employ the same number of people that automation replaced and still pay for the automation. If you hire fewer people, then eventually you get into the problem of who buys your goods - even more true if we aren't even manufacturing here in this country. This forced semi hibernation should be a great lesson about the problem with people not working, needing stuff, and not having the job related income to buy it. Somehow, though, I think we'll largely miss the lesson.
I agree. Some will totally not get it. Most of us ole coggers will but will never be able to get the point across. China is laughing at us right now and we will continue to buy products with Made In China. Love what Trump did but it is like he poked a chump in the corner of the room who was willing to sacrifice a few of his family members to take a chunk of members of many others.

You and hog shouldn't have any problem qualifying.
Hog’s business, from what little I know about it, puts trucks on the road to provide environmental services, which are no doubt “essential” but his drivers and technicians may be stopped and asked for papers. Dang, that sounds downright un-American.

In my case I am pretty well below the radar unless I’m on a grocery or laundry run. The only people that will show up at my gate are the FedEx or UPS drivers and I don’t think they’ll be concerned that my business is still running.

On Kauai, if you say at the checkpoint that you’re going to get groceries you better have them on the way out when you get stopped again. Fines or arrests are being made.

I'm going to tell you that, from a medical standpoint, there's no way in hell people are "essentially cured" of anything 3-4 hours after taking one dose of chloroquine.

I’m just stating what people have said in interviews. They didn’t say they were 100% better, that it caused them to take a turn for the better when it was administered with the antibiotic. Plenty of people staring that now.

Anyone in Clarksville? Apparently, you're under a shelter in place order and subject to citation or arrest for being out in public for non-essential reasons. Curious if anyone is noticing whether this being enforced.

I drive from Chicamauga to Calhoun Ga every day for work..interstate is about 20% lighter on car traffic, truck traffic about the same...but the real difference is the cops...barley seen one in two weeks.

I was talking to a buddy yesterday. He couldn't believe the White House would put out those numbers (100K - 240K US deaths), because "the math just doesn't add up".
It took from Feb 15 to EOD March 27 (this past Fri) to reach 1,695 deaths. It took from March 28 to EOD yesterday to more than double that, to 4053 deaths. If we double the deaths every 3 days, we'll be at 120,000+ in 15 days. I'd say 100,000 deaths at the end of April would be a tremendous success. It needs to peak asap.
