Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

That is not the bill you were referring to earlier but on this particular bill..... Rand tried pushing through an amendment that he knew had no chance of passing and voted no on the bill that didn’t include his amendment knowing that it would pass with ease.... he might be different but I have my doubts.... I don’t stick with any kind of party line.... I vote who I think is the best candidate period.
Why? 95-100% of them vote party line on everything.

Just to clarify - I'm not saying Trump or his team have handled this perfectly or even close to perfectly.

I'd rate the overall effort a B with Trump himself a B- at best. The CDC screwed the pooch with it's testing mistakes but as Rifleman points out that may have inadvertently accelerated the mitigation strategy.

That said, so much of the criticism here is about things he said rather than actions and there is virtually no evidence of specific actions his team of experts recommended that he refused or delayed.

At least one of our critics admits he "loathes" the POTUS so we can understand his lack of evidence for his claims.

Some of the demands Cuomo was requesting we bs. He was lying and basically admitted to this. The stupid hack reporter was asking a gotcha question and called BS on her.
What don't you understand? Governor was lying they were not needing an amount of supplies as they had stated. The reporter knowingly asked a question designed to cast the president negatively based off lies from the state. No ventilators? BS there were 1000 in storage. So the unattractive large waisted reporterette can have a Coke and a smile
You started this out with a right-wing lie that’s been proven false over and over again.
Ventilators were not “found” in a New York warehouse. Officials were storing them there so they can be sent out to hospitals as the need arose. The photograph used in the Facebook meme was taken by Gothamist photographer Scott Lynch on March 24, 2020. According to Lynch’s caption, it depicts 400 ventilators that were “set to be transported to hospitals.” Officials in New York had requested 30,000 ventilators for when cases were expected to peak in subsequent weeks. As of March 24, officials reported only having a fraction of that number.
In a situation like this, you don’t wanna wait till the actual need is upon you. You want be proactive so that as the need arises, they’re already on hand.
As for the question: If Trump can go on Hannity and make these assertions, why should it be off limits to the much broader American audience? This debate has been taking place here with some good points coming from both sides. If Trump believes some of the numbers are inflated, then let’s have that discussion, because that will most definitely affect his decision-making as to who gets what and when.
How can you argue that only his base has the right to know.
I know you want to defend your leader, but his job is to inform and answer ALL Americans, not just those who are his supporters.

You are falsely accusing something of happening that just did not happen. You probably believed that Vindman was fired too.

So, the WH Pandemic office is still there, but you can't see it unless you read an opinion article on the Washington Post. Sounds air tight.

Did you have them or not? Cuomo said that he didn't?

Why in all his wisdom did governor Cuomo pass on the opportunity to purchase 16 k ventilators in 2015?

Interesting that the predicted peak need for ventilators is about 27K (with a range from 13K to 42.5K). Cuomo has been saying he needs 30 to 40K just for NY state.

Cuomo is a tool. I really hope the people who are in the front line are as safe as possible because this guy is a political hack. With that said I will say that thoughts are with his brother.

It wasn't eliminated, it was "streamlined"... i'd just been thinking about it the wrong way. So much more aerodynamic now.. a virus could blow right through it.

Here's another generous account.
Bolton defends decision to shutter NSC pandemic office

Notice that there is no sourcing for this comment "the move was reportedly interpreted as a downgrading of the administration’s priority for global health security."

Bolton apparently no fan of this administration and the guy who implemented it both on the record. What knowledgeable sources are on the record saying it degraded the capabilities?
