So..who gets to decide that definition going forward? And what other laws can you make to tell us how and what to believe?

The founding fathers all broke "The Law"..

I don't have a problem with a clearly defined "in real emergencies only" law..but that better be as far as it goes.

there's really nothing to "feel" here....there are no implications.

i went to chruch on Sunday....my church's facebook live. sat in my living room with my family and we all attended...no one arresterd us. lol.

it's not illegal to worship.

it's mandated right now no group settings, social distancing, and ONLY necessary travel/getting out in public.

worship/religion is not singled out or treated any differently than going to the movies, the theatre, bowling, restaurants, sporting events, the gym, etc, etc, etc.....except they were all told to close their doors......it's not even an option to go to any of those places right now.

none if it is "illegal"; no rights infringed.

you're right. that guy's an idiot. and that's how it should be left. this has nothing to do with religion/worship/faith.

I just want the reach of the law here clearly defined...I agree that we shouldn't be having gatherings right now.

I had a very tangible sense of foreboding when I saw this story. How far does this reach going down the line?

A lot of what we believe (well the ones that actually follow the Bible anyway) is already considered socially unacceptable, so what is the next excuse to shut us down, and tell us that we can only worship in a socially acceptable way? Who is going to stand up for our rights then?

This reach of this better be VERY clearly defined.
Would it be socially acceptable to burn someone at the stake upon the pulpit or to gang rape teenage boys on the pulpit if that was part of their religious beliefs?

You are directly altering someone elses life liberty and the pursuit of happiness with your analogy. The church goers, made the choice to go. No ones life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is infringed. Before you go on saying "the spread of the virus" understand there is an easy justification to much more ridiculous reasons.

Nobody's rights have been violated any more than a person placed in quarantine. If a quarantine is legal, this is. Religion isn't specifically being singled out.

And social distancing is actually Biblical. Very clearly called for in the OT...for exactly the reason we are currently facing.
I 100% agree..about this particular issue.

it is about as clear as it probably can be. no gatherings of any kind.

all this other stuff you've posted.......you're projecting. there's been zero evidence to support any of the stuff you've posted about additional restrictions on what or how or when you (or anyone else for htat matter) should believe.

you just can't do it in groups right now. past that....do what you want, how you want, when you want.

and when this over, everyone can go back to the church they want to. or not. either way.

Omg you must of put on your martyr pants this morning.
No...I just grew up in a very old school holiness religion, and I endured a lot of mockery growing up..it leaves you a little scarred. I would appreciate you refraining from making fun of me, and I hope this means nothing going forward.

I bet u have high blood pressure..

I am trying to express my concerns about this..that is all...You know as well as I do that there are a ton of folks out there chomping at the bit to outlaw some of our beliefs.
the only reason you're concerned is because you've applied your own fears to it. not what the actual issue/result is.

go back to the beginning. this has nothing to do with religion, worship or any freedoms related to them as guranteed in the US Consititution.

there is NOTHING to this in regards to regulating what these people believe, how they believe it...ONLY that for now, they can't do it in a group. the result would have been the same if they gathered in the parking lot of a Wal Mart.....and held service.

that's it.

You are quite the enigma. Rough and tough but so very fragile.

Quarantine Topic of the day. Give me one set on offense and defense that you would think would be the most unstoppable with Vols + 1 Sub on each.

Offense:

QB: Manning
RB: Arian Foster
HB/Slot: Kamara
WR1: Stallworth
WR2: Pickens
WR3: Meachem
OL: Trey Smith, DeLong, Munoz, Bob Johnson, Chad Clifton

Sub - C. Patterson

Defense:
DE: Reggie White & Adkins
Nose: John Henderson,
Edge; Leonard Little
LB: Mayo / Wilson
CB: Jason Allen
CB: Dale Carter
Strong Safety: Eric Berry
Free Safety: Deon Grant

Sub: Barnett.

Good luck getting a pass off with that Pass rush and Allen and carter jamming you at the line.
Not far off on this with the exception of RB. Give me the 1-2 punch of Jamal Lewis and Chuck Webb. That's one of the greatest 1-2 punches of any RB combo ever.

Unstoppable.

Of course not..it was always evil.

Is it going to be acceptable to throw me in jail for preaching against things that I believe to be sin?

see....you went down the hole that doesn't exist here.

no reason for that.

take a lap.
The topic is not that much different, except the reality we are discussing is much more indiscriminate. Yes the analogy I was making was outlandish, but it is still putting the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness of a lot of people in jeopardy.

What I said in that bolded part is true
even so... it still has no bearing on this particular incident....which is the subject matter to be dealt with...not a broad based discussion regarding persecution of faith (of any kind...yours is not the only relgiion/faith/set of beliefs to be mocked, persecuted or vilified)....which, is what some will try to do with this...hence.... "don't fall for it".....
