Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I think my favorite part about this thread is reading people complaining about our media bullying Trump at his press conferences and then seeing the same people say they don’t trust any info from China.

My least favorite thing about this thread is that I’ll never be able to top @luthervol for making that point and having it go over everyone’s heads.
I may have to go back and read the pages I skipped. It's hard for me to believe luther made a point.

Did he hold a gun to anyone's head and make them attend?

No argument there but arresting him was out of bounds. If he can be charged then his whole congregation in attendance should be charged too.
I don’t think arresting him is the right way to go either unless they’ve previously had discussions with him.

No, but this one is especially dumb because I'm assuming (since this is a church) he had a disproportionately older crowd there, who this virus does pose an elevated risk to, and he knows those people are going to do what their pastor tells them to.

If that is the bar for charges, open the effing gates.
I just posted that I don’t think charging him is really the way to go either. But one way or the other, he’s got to be made to understand that he’s endangering his church members and the public by holding large gatherings right now.

I’m part of a group that’s about to hold a meeting that I dread - the one where we cancel Easter services.

Definitely not, but it’s an irresponsible move for someone in a position of trust.
I guess you can make that argument. But people chose to attend. It'll make for an interesting freedom of religion/1A case IMO.

Mine has been closed for weeks and I still hate they did it. I feel it could be open and we could maintain safe distances as well as discourage elderly from attending.
