Easy for Bill Lee to call for a shutdown as he will still be getting paid and I bet the type of work Lee Company does will be on the essential list
How does Lee Company get paid to do work for a restaurant, just as an example, if the restaurant industry is bankrupt? You really think that a construction company benefits from a shutdown?

I enjoy a good conspiracy, but come on now.

Planned Parenthood, ACLU sue three states over Abortion restrictions during pandemic

Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued government officials in Iowa, Ohio and Alabama on Monday to ensure access to abortion during the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials in those states have either said that orders suspending nonessential medical procedures apply to abortions or have issued directives that left providers unclear about whether they are running afoul of the law.

The pause on nonessential procedures across the country is meant to conserve masks and gloves for healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic. Several governors have issued such orders but divisions have emerged between red and blue states over whether abortion is an essential procedure.

I can't get on board with the whole "they're shutting it down for some hidden reason" conspiracy because ultimately how do they benefit from this? If businesses stay shut down too long, then we'll have to start talking about local (and maybe even state) governments running into funding problems.

Just look at the great depression. Government became exponentially larger as a result of it. A depression with our current society could be even more fruitful for them.

Bailout #5 or #6 will be to the state governments that can't pay their bills with revenue from a good economy.

They do residential and all types of commercial not just restaurants. And no one thinks all restaurants will go bankrupt. You want to make a wager plumbing and HVAC companies are on the essential list?

Typical Trumpster. Ignore and even deny the science and the facts for as long as you can possibly get away with it. What I love about Trump is that he did so for 6 weeks, to the point where we are over 100,000 cases and thousands dead and now he switches gears and instead of denying and minimizing it, now he's taking credit for it not being worse!! He's such a fraud.

We're six weeks behind testing and containment because the CDC insisted on developing their own test protocol and because FDA granted an exclusive EUA to them. Those tests began shipping the first week of Feb. same as WHO and other 1st world nations. The test failed in the field and the CDC spent the month of Feb trying to correct and assuring state labs replacements would be forthcoming. In no way were they - the "science" - deterred or inhibited by Trump, who turned to these "experts" just as the left said he should.

If the tests had not failed, you wouldn't even have the false talking points you keep repeating.

Even so, we have dramatically raced ahead in just two weeks to have tested more people than any country, are doing as well as almost any Western nation with rates of infection and death, and far better than most of them. And not just Italy and Spain; the Nordic countries have abysmal death rates and comparable infection rates even though they were not impacted until more than a month after the U.S.

Trump trying to keep mewling jellyfish from panicking, has not impaired the response effort one bit. God forbid we ever allow medical "experts" to run the damned country.

I explicitly said restaurants as an example.

If you think that a general contractor-type company benefits from shutting everything down, you're nuts. Even if the work they do is on the "essential list." A shutdown bankrupts potential customers.

Now, if Jeff Bezos was a governor, maybe you've got something there...

If a President states in an interview that he believes the amount of equipment a state is saying they need is inflated, that he believes what they actually need for their state is much lower, how is it an unfair question to ask him how this will affect the way he allocates those needed resources?
