Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Well, at any rate, he gave bad information, intentional or not. If you want to watch that press event, I'll warn you, it's pretty cringe-worthy.

I watched it, as one reporter after another attempted "gotcha" questions.

Why is that? As Alcindor explained later in an interiview:
ALCINDOR: It went a bit better than the first round which was the first time the President lashed out at me and said I was trying to hold him accountable by quoting his words back to him. In this case, of course, I have to say thank you to Jeremy of CNN for giving me the opportunity to ask my second question. We know now that covering President Trump sometimes is like a team sport. We have to have each other's back in the press corps and Jeremy had my back today.

That this...'reporter'...can unblinkingly make such a statement, assured of the propriety of it, is disgraceful.

You need to listen to the questions the reporters are asking at these daily news briefings. Their job is not to toss the President softballs. These are not supposed to be campaign rallies, although Trump often treats them like they are. The media's job is to ask difficult and probing questions, which is not something new for Trump and has been this way for EVERY president whether Democrat or Respublican, especially in modern history.

Please cite any campaign rally complete with Infectious disease experts complete with 1-2 hours of questioning? No one is buying your sensationalization 💩.
Reported who ask relevant questions are answered. Those with agendas are treated appropriately calling them the hack fake news they are. They can pound sand.

@luthervol , is this your Twitter?

Seems awfully familiar

I'm OK with our case count being the highest, because other countries not testing as much. It's about the death count, which, to this point, is BAD, but less BAD from a % standpoint. There's exponentially more cases than reported, even in US, which has more testing. I have an employee in CLT who is 28 and had all symptoms but cough, and they told her they weren't going to test her because of limited test kits, and for her to assume she has it and go home to quarantine for 14 days, and go to emergency room if gets worse. On flip side, China has 50K urns delivered to Wuhan funeral homes, but is sticking with 3100 deaths.

King Of Thailand Isolates From Coronavirus — With A Harem Of 20 Concubines

If you’re going to isolate to avoid catching SARS-CoV-2, you might as well do it with 20 women.

That’s what Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as Rama X, has reportedly done. He has booked the entire Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl with “special permission” to “break the lockdown in the Alpine resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, The Independent said.

“The 67-year-old king’s entourage included a ‘harem’ of 20 concubines and numerous servants, reported German tabloid Bild. It is unclear if his four wives are living in the hotel with the rest of the group.”

Hugh Hewitt was on MSNBC last night. He has turned into a Trump supporter, despite his misgivings prior ot the election.

He says he thinks Trump is better off not appearing at these conferences for a time/or that he should limit his time at them, and let the experts and professionals answer questions. The reason is that there is tension between Trump's political goal of trying to make it appear that everything is going to be fine, soon, and he deserves credit; versus the reality of the situation and the facts, which are largely negative at the moment.

He's right. It is jarring to see Trump's opening comments about how great things are going, and then the others step to the podium and paint a picture that is not nearly so rosy. And that inevitably causes the press to then question Trump's willingness to admit to the reality. If we get to a point where several thousand people or more are dying each day, and Trump is up there begging for some sort of accolades and claiming its going well, it is going to sound just terrible.

Hewitt is a fool for saying that the president elect should not talk to the country and dishonest for saying the president is begging for accolades.

Trump speaks in generalities and has team members "experts" do the granular. It could hardly be more transparent.

As Fauci stated, economic experts cannot be trusted with medical counsel, and neither can he be trusted with economic counsel, and that the president has the sole, awesome responsibility of balancing those concerns. And national security. I think we have given the medical "experts" far too much credence. The lives being ruined and to be ruined by this, those are LIVES, too.

UK’s Boris Johnson ‘Furious’ With China, Says There Could Be A ‘Reckoning’ For China’s Coronavirus ‘Disinformation Campaign’

The United Kingdom’s government, led by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, is reportedly “furious” with China, and has pledged a “reckoning” for the country’s “disinformation campaign,” which UK officials believe downplayed the number of Chinese coronavirus cases by “15 to 40” times.

Business Insider reports that Johnson’s government is the first to suggest that China could face economic consequences for the coronavirus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

“UK government officials are accusing China of spreading disinformation about the severity of the coronavirus outbreak in its borders,” the outlet says, adding that officials believe China’s reported number of coronavirus cases — just over 81,000 — is far too low, and that the real number of cases could be “15 to 40 times” official Chinese reports.

It's good to be the king.

You think the claims of hospitals in NYC becoming stressed and overcrowded are not true? Made up?

I don’t know, and that is the problem. When reporting live there are no lines and empty parking lots.

But it does appear the press is using false footage (from Italy) when reporting on it. You disagree?

NYT Writer: Americans Should Stop Blaming Communist Chinese Government, Learn From Them Instead

On Monday, Max Fisher, international reporter and columnist for The New York Times, posited that Americans should stop blaming the Communist Chinese government for the coronavirus and instead take lessons from the brutally repressive Chinese Communist regime as to how to deal with it.

GettyImages-1134268935.jpg

Fisher tweeted, “US outbreaks may be too far along for the South Korea model to work. The only thing left is the China model. It’s the only known success at subduing a full-blown epidemic. Instead of working with Beijing on finding lessons, the US is scapegoating China to deflect political blame.”

Fisher referenced Dr. Bruce Alyward, a senior adviser to the director-general of the World Health Organization, in his last tweet, which is notable as Alyward blew off a journalist who politely asked him if the WHO would consider allowing Taiwan as a member of the organization, which Communist China has opposed. Taiwan had reportedly attempted to alert the WHOto the severity of the coronavirus early on, but the WHO rebuffed their effort to offer information.

Read and/or watch them again. His original quote was basically saying I don’t think THEY’LL (future tense) need them but they’re being built anyway. Her question frames it as a CURRENT need that wasn’t being met.

It’s a subtle difference, but he didn’t say what she said he did.
Trump told Hannity that he felt Cuomo was requesting an unnecessary number of ventilators. "I have a feeling that a lot of the numbers that are being said in some areas are just bigger than they are going to be. I don't believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators." Notice that Trump didn't say 'that you will need' 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators... he only says 'need'.

I also find it odd that you are splitting hairs in order to give a man the benefit of the doubt with a track record such as this:

President Donald Trump, speaking on January 22nd:

"We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It's going to be just fine."

President Donald Trump, speaking on March 17th:

"This is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic."

Once again, Donald Trump is a brazen liar.

Perfect - he can go do his writing over there - good riddance

Yeah Obama faced "high heat" all the time.

Lol.

I personally don’t believe any numbers being reported on China.
