But I would agree that many of us wanted to express optimism that this could be limited. The Chinese apparently have been successful in doing so but their methods would not be available in US (for example, sealing the doors of people who refused to quarantine). There are states that are still 4-6 weeks away from hitting their peak numbers. Florida and Texas particularly are going to get slammed. I don't believe this is being overblown by media anymore, I think it is reality.

It's been studied heavily, as many in the medical scientific community have been warning of a respiratory outbreak matching this almost identical. (I am not referring to the extremists painting this as the Spanish flu or their counterparts acting like it's nothing). The more realistic, less sensational members have had models with numbers matching so perfectly, it's almost uncanny.

They've been trying to prepare and be out front but lack of funding has insured that hasn't happened.

*Again - Had the suggested precautions been implemented, the government action decisive and the public response helpful instead of rebellious, this would be over by now.
We do still have the ability to shorten the lifespan of the consequences. Fear mongering, hoarding and taking advantage for political finger pointing is not gonna make that happen.
Please, take care of yourselves, use common sense and look out for those that need assistance. Hopefully everyone here is ok financially and your parents etc., remain healthy.

I am assuming more test kits would have been one of the suggested precautions. We clearly need more funding and if we don't get it this time, the next strain that comes along may be far worse. I really hope we let our smart people do their jobs to get ahead of this type of thing instead of just going on as business as usual after corona is just a beer again.

I know this whole unseen war with this virus is very serious and very difficult on everyone, but I just want to personally give a hearty, sincere THANK YOU to all medical personnel on the front lines, all first responders and to all truck drivers and delivery drivers who daily keep products moving to the grocery stores so we can have food and supplies available and to the store workers who get the products on the shelves. You are all war heroes in my book. God Bless all of you and please stay safe!

I'm intrigued by the all inclusive vaccine being researched. The Netflix show Pandemic is very interesting, especially in light of what's taking place.

Could you imagine for a moment what if everyone took a few minutes and sincerely and humbly knelt down and did this daily , could Covid 19 be wiped out and we would never face a plague like this again?. With God, all things are possible!

I'm not going to hold my breath on that one. The CDC has a lot of trouble just keeping up with the flu strain of the year.

I just saw a stat that is rather chilling out of China. That is that there are 21 million fewer cell phone subscriptions after the outbreak

would just like to point out that story originated from reporting from the epoch times, a media group that's been banned from running ads on facebook for their blatant dishonesty. not saying its inaccurate, but it does require a bit more scrutiny and should be taken with a grain of salt.

In addition, in their effort to further control the story, it wouldn’t surprise me if the government were able to cancel wireless accounts (along with social media, internet, etc) for folks they anticipate would spread news about the true impact of the virus in China. Just offering up as a possible driver beyond - or in addition to - COVID impacts.
