Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I don't necessarily fault Hobby Lobby for staying open because I know Home Depot was open last week. I'm not sure about this week. I say that because grocery stores pose the same risk for employees. What does bother me is if they were fired after they shut down with no pay. I'd like to see more on this story. Wal Mart is one of the models for an essential place of business that has remained open though. They have given all employees, part-time and full-time, work bonuses.

I don't see Liberals scorning any potential treatments. It doesn't matter though who is touting them or trashing them. I have no doubt there are several medicines undergoing trials. If they find one that works we'll all know it and welcome it.

You haven't been paying attention then. I've posted several links where liberal governors are doing worse than scorning treatments. They're blocking doctor's ability to use them.

I'm not sure where you getting that I said any of that, and it's not only for arthritis, BTW, Lupus as well.

If you want to put your faith in this drug being a life saver, I'm not about to stand in your way. However, prescribing guidelines/supply limitations probably will. Call the FDA.

The example I'm using here is Michigan. In that state the governor IS standing in the way of this drug being used for Covid-19 treatment. I have a really hard time with that. Do you support what she's doing?

France Officially Sanctions Drug After 78 Of 80 Patients Recover From COVID-19 Within Five Days

The French government has officially sanctioned chloroquine, a drug often used to fight malaria, for certain patients infected with the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

“The French government has officially sanctioned prescriptions of chloroquine to treat certain coronavirus patients,” France 24 English reported Saturday.

“This ensures continued treatment of patients who have been treated for several years for a chronic condition with this drug, but also allows a temporary authorization to allow certain patients with coronavirus to benefit from this therapeutic route,” said France’s director general of health Jérôme Salomon.

The move comes after infectious diseases specialist Didier Raoult announced new clinical results, which can be accessed here, that show 78 out of 80 patients treated with chloroquine recovered within five days, reported Trustnodes.

Home Depot was still open in the Knoxville area today I heard.

Justin Trudeau Gets Crushed Online After Suggesting Canadians Turn Off Lights, TV For ‘Earth Hour’ Amid Coronavirus Quarantine

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may be handling his own coronavirus pandemic, but he’s still committed to pursuing radical environmental policies and ingratiating himself to the global environmental elite.

Saturday night, while most Canadians sheltered at home, under “social distancing” order designed to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, Trudeau suggested on social media that those sheltering in place turn off their electricity to save the planet.

His plan met with swift and crushing criticism on social media, as Twitter users pointed out how necessary fossil fuels have become in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Come on HC. We are counting on you!

Watching CNN and they just had a nurse in New Orleans say that their morgues are full and their temporary morgues are about full, Louisiana has had a total of 137 deaths. WTF, do they actually expect us to believe this ********?
They need to stop interviewing nurses.

If you want to know the big picture of how the Healthcare system is holding up, ask hospital administrators.

Absolutely nothing against the nurses, they are absolutely carrying the country right now. But a nurse feeling overwhelmed and an entire hospital being overwhelmed are two wildy different things, and the media should stop conflating those things.

I think this is universal across the country, especially in rural areas. I know in East Tennessee there have been several hospitals close even one of the largest in Knoxville, Baptist closed down. There is a lot of soul searching and blame to go around once this virus is a memory.

I talked before in the Obamacare thread about the number of hospitals closed and ones on the verge of closing. I’m sure those in communities where hospitals closed sure wish they would have taken the warning a little more serious whenever they learned their local hospital was in the verge of shutting down.

My small hospital was one on the edge. Many in our local community didn’t take it serious. They kinda appreciate us a little more right now.

You clearly didn’t think this through

Why's that? Health workers are getting infected at a very high rate, despite wearing masks, protective eyewear, protective clothing and washing their hands out the wazoo. If I were a doc, I wouldn't wanna throw my hands into a pizza or donut box that everyone else in the unit had thrown their hands in and then use my hands to put it in my mouth.

They need to start acting like it's Publix cheese and wrap those suckers individually

Since Trump touted it, the Trump haters on here would rather die first than to take it.

Nope. Truthfully, I have grown tired of the negativity on the forum, and have stepped back a bit. This place makes me hate people.

Maybe we can all try to become a bit nicer but that will require us to report information in a more balanced way. That might be too much to ask of some.
