Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I haven’t any data suggesting deaths are currently climaxing. It does look like severe cases may be climaxing in NY, which hopefully means deaths will climax a week or two down the road there.
Deaths don’t happen suddenly.... these deaths got started 1-2 possibly more weeks ago.... the good news that they stated on my call is that the severity of cases has plateaued and some or on a downward trend

Illinois clown was one

Looks like those in Illinois with Lupus or Arthritis, infected with the virus get "cured" first...

The problem was stockpiling by physicians for personal (family and friends) use, but sure the Governor just wanted to deny life saving cures to people with the virus.

Maybe insulin will be the new promising treatment, and diabetics will be the lucky ones.

Of the 12,000 new cases in the US today, so far, approx. 8400 are in NY and NJ. Avg. around 9k new cases a day and still going forward with massive cuts to their system. Interesting.

"These are the latest in a two-decade-long pattern of budget cuts and insurance overhauls that played a key role in the Empire State losing 20,000 now-badly needed hospital beds to fight the coronavirus." - NY Post

I think this is universal across the country, especially in rural areas. I know in East Tennessee there have been several hospitals close even one of the largest in Knoxville, Baptist closed down. There is a lot of soul searching and blame to go around once this virus is a memory.

How can you hoard it if it takes a prescription? That would mean doctors are prescribing it as a prophylactic to someone with 0 symptoms which should already be illegal.
If I am a doctor I can hoard it. And doctors don’t exactly have a pristine track record when it comes to taking advantage of situations. See the opioid crisis.

The old st Mary's is closed now too but I don't think anything has been done with it. I've wondered if it could be temporarily used if need arose.

Isn't there something like 3 state Governors (all democrats) that have banned physicians from prescribing this drug off label?
That doesn't mean that all Liberals are against this medication or trials of it. I'm sure there are numerous unaffected people trying to get their hands on this stuff hoping to use it as a vaccine even there's no scientific evidence yet that it does anything positive. Some doctors have said some patients seem to show improvement. If it proves to be effective it would be irresponsible let people arbitrarily gobble up the supply like they have toilet paper.

Knock on wood, but Knox County and Tennessee in general seem to be holding up okay so far. But it's definitely worth having that as a back up plan. Closed military installations in parts of the country too would be a good option. Just wonder if we would have enough doctors and other healthcare workers to go around if we had to open up those facilities??

Good question. If you look at that link I posted earlier, it looks like Tennessee as a whole has the resources to manage the load.

When my wife made me get snipped, Valium became my new best friend, pre-op anyway. Not even Nurse Ratched could spoil that experience, and she did try. Would be awesome if that ended up being the cure.

They don’t have homes? They would never sell prescriptions so others could pick it up at Walgreens and sell it like it’s a opioid?
If that's happening we're back at it being illegal. I don't think the Governors bans are about what you're describing. It's their TDS after Trump said the drug might work on this stuff.
Then they come out and say it will take it away from Lupus patients. The three in my family that has Lupus says while it does help, their prednisone is the #1 thing they would miss.

Baptist closed down bc they were losing patients to UTMC and Regional. They couldn’t even pay their staff and all they had at the end were homeless people. In Knoxville UTMC and Parkwest are the golden standards (along with Children’s). Then regional and the rest are substandard
