Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

The virus has not hit the red States strongly yet. Of and when it does, you'll see the numbers shift. Right now, a lot of people in rural parts of the country don't understand what all the fuss is about.

What you say makes sense, but you assume they are rational, which is up for debate.

Are you saying rural America doesn’t have cell phones and 50 inch TVs with cable / dish ? I think they understand just fine , they understand the difference in living 20 mins from the nearest store , school or hospital . I believe they also understand and will tell you in a second that this is the very reason they don’t live packed up like rats in a city .

They had the foresight to live out in the country to avoid a world pandemic?

Fun fact, you can also get all of your essential vitamins and supplements from beta fish food. It's off label of course, "'Murican Prepper Gazzete Quarterly " recommends a few different specific brands, but in my experience the cheap multi-colored flakes work just fine.

better eaten while taking a bath, but it's not hard to get the hang of it.

There's a difference when you hear ambulances through the night and when you see it on the news in a place a thousand miles away. The same way it was for all of America when we first heard about all those Chinese dying all the way over in China. We could see it on our TVs, but we were not living that reality.

I’ll grant you that it’s human nature not to worry about something until it’s on your doorstep. Just don’t make the mistake of thinking people are stupid.

You ever live out in the country ? They know what goes on in the large cities and again, the very reason they choose not to live there . Rural Americans doesn’t mean ignorant of their surroundings, I would argue right now they would / could be the ones saying the “ city folk “ are the ignorant ones . See the argument ?

who are they suing ? or do you mean bankruptcy lawyers ?

They will be suing employers because an employee “got it” at work. They will be suing retailers, restaurants ext because a customer “got it” at the establishment. I wouldn’t doubt landlords will be sued, it will be litigation out the wazzu.

Plus bankruptcies.

While we still have a lot to learn about this coronavirus, we know a great deal about the flu. You quoted a poster who either doesn't know how to interpret the data presented on the flu in the source material he referenced, or he is being intellectually dishonest. Either way, his statements about the flu are both wrong and not supported by the CDC data he referenced.

Exactly my point, and he is using the same numbers to calculate the mortality numbers being used in the media, so what does that say about what the media is reporting?

They’ll need a cattle chute for people standing in line to sue Hospitals and Drs.

Something I'll point out, is that probably half of my rural community, and more than that, in this greater rural community, have summer places here. They have been coming in earlier than usual, and we are not so isolated as some would like to pretend. This doesn't mean that the average person is oblivious to that fact, but very few around here seem to have much concern about being cautious, and that concerns me.

No they choose to live in the country to avoid a lot of the problems urban cities have , this is just one of those problems . It’s simple logic , don’t make it hard .

I defy you to find 10 people amongst the hundred million-plus that you are talking about who said, prior to this, that avoiding a world pandemic is why they chose to live where they do.
