You'll see a spike in rural PA cases soon as NYCers and people from Philly start looking for hospital beds in the PA countryside -- all just a short drive from those cities.

It is related, i did my homework. Apparently in 2006 they used 4 false lungs to show how one ventilator can run for 12 hours For pts at 70kg or 500 TV. They used 2 different modes. No animal trials or human trials.
So in Vegas in 2017 a doctor that received most of the trauma cases ventilated 2 pts from 1 ventilator for a short time until they were taken to the OR.
Now a Canadian has come up with ventilating 9 pts from one ventilator. No trials or studies come with this claim.
This is all done for the sake of emergencies.
I can understand doing what they did in Vegas for a short time before the OR. That is what critical thinking will get you. I can let one die or chance saving them both. You take the latter option.
In any long term circumstance, like days, this is not viable. You can cause permanent damage to people's lungs doing this for variables that differ between patients.

Wrong. You are "paying for safety". What I think we are doing, but haven't checked, is paying off as much older debt, refinancing as the new lower rate. Foreign banks are "paying" negative interest, you are paying them to keep your money in their bank (along with their other services), With than in mind, the American Banks look pretty good.

Obama didn’t ignore it. You likely know that.

We had about 12k deaths from H1N1 in the US (the 500k number of course is the upper end of the global estimate, which is a lot).

Unless interventions take us off our current trajectory we’ll cross 12,000 US deaths in a few weeks from now, which will be a little over a month since our first US deaths.

There’s a clear difference between these viruses. Thus the clear differences in actions necessitated.

I think all cars should be fitted with a Coronavirus breathalyzer in highly infected areas .. you blow hot , your car won’t start . Tamper with the devise , an automatic stun gun pops up and zaps you between the eyes .

Maybe Trump could buy them up for pennies on the dollar, remember when the coronation of queen Hillary did not take place? The would be queen had purchased millions worth of fireworks, Trump offered to buy them up for pennies on the dollar!! Carnival, if it goes "tits up" will become something else, the ships won't sink etc., a major cruise line will still be there, it'll be Carnival or something else.

We are paying a high cost but I also believe we’d be paying a high cost (actual dollars and lives) with many more deaths when panic sets in when thousands begin to die daily if we don’t take the actions now.

I think the panic will be worse when the daily large death toll numbers start to pour in at about the same time people have been cooped up for 10 days. They are going to be hitting a mental wall while at the same time experiencing the very opposite of a payoff.
