I’m dealing with a family member that is arguing to have the government shut down everything for a 4 week minimum. I asked them if we were in communist China, and told them if that’s the response they want them move to that country. No amount of quarantining will stop this virus.

No, there is a large portion of the population that lives paycheck to paycheck, no savings and living on credit.

No matter how good an economy is you can't shut the country down for a month, then come back and turn the lights on and everything magically go back to normal, it's not that easy. If we didn't have such a great economy when this thing started we would be in much worse shape. Thankfully Hillary isn't in charge, but on the other hand if she were the media and politicians wouldn't have blown this thing way out of proportion like that have

I’m going to guess it’s because our living paycheck to paycheck, non saving, just in time economy wasn’t even remotely prepared for it.🤷‍♀️

The desire for instant gratification for the latest overpriced trendy widget has supplanted the desire for a rainy day fund in most of our society. Maybe this will be a wake up call to some folks about frivolous spending and something good comes out of it.

It is truly mind boggling ! It's as though a vote not cast for either of the 2 main parties is strictly taboo. If there was ever a time that the people need to wake up to fact that this 2 party system way of doing things is going the way of bullsh*t it's right now.

Good point I saw raised on a video last night. I'm not so sure we can trust the numbers coming out of New York anymore than we trust the numbers out of China. China may have beeen downplaying the numbers and New York is possibly exaggerating them.

You think there is going to be a magic day at the end of this when the gubment turns on the green light? And when they do that the car dealerships, boat dealerships, tourist destinations are just going to be flooded with customers?

I'm not so sure this is fair. Most small businesses struggle to survive partly due to having to reinvest into their business and riding a red line. When income breaks down, it's a chain reaction from bottom to top.

I don't see the banks having much to worry about, but even the shadow economy of the bottom class will suffer without cash flowing.
