Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Mitch agrees. The most telling thing to me was Cocaine Mitch have very specific examples of pork the Dems are trying to add to the bill. Chuckie did not challenge a single one of them and only provided fluff rhetoric while not attacking any GOP pork. There’s a clear message. Mitch called the Dems out and it stuck cleanly.

I am reading on CNBC that the original House version, i.e. the Dem bill, flatly banned stock buy backs with the money.

The Senate version added a loophole that would allow the Treasury Secretary to waive that prohibition.

That's a major problem, even according to Trump. Why would Senate Republicans undermine the buy back prohibition?

The media coverage was not like today you are correct. However I’m arguing it was different for a reason. The economy is tanking because we are going into massive quarantines that will cause widespread temporary unemployment and multiple percentage drops in GDP. We are going into those quarantines not because of the media but because our health officials are telling us it’s necessary to avoid the worst outcomes.

I personally question our willingness to continue this for long. I think we’ll end up running the experiment of just how bad it will look if we get back to something more normal within a few weeks.

None of the cdc professionals in 2009 advised to take such draconian measures as shutting the country down. The left will take full advantage of this to continue to chip away our liberties.

Are you looking to have an honest discussion on that subject? Good luck.

Why wasn’t this brought up during the just completed speeches. Trump is right in that and I don’t think there would be any resistance. Instead “we’re fighting for you...” emotional blah blah while blatantly ignoring McConnell’s accusations. Chuckie went down in flames.

Oh sure, Mitch don't like pork. Biggest Mud Turtle in DC, as I see it.
I don't know why republicans are so upset they can't get the biggest bailout in American history. In a few months he will be trying to blame the Democrats for the biggest bailout in American history.

I already stated I’m in favor of it and several GOP including Trump have. Why are you claiming that’s not honest discussion? And that’s an easy target why didn’t Chuckie bring it up?

yeah, but he won't blame them for the inflating the stock market, again.

Which is more important: 1) Get a bill passed that will actually drive economic stability; or 2) use half truths and ommissions to make the other guy look bad?

Love it. I don't have one but it's kind of a family tradition. Whiskey is in my blood (literally almost all the time). My great grandfather was one of the most notorious bootleggers in his own and surrounding counties in his day. He went to jail for 6 months during prohibition.

edit: he claimed he made alcohol in jail

My grandfather made it up until the middle 70s. He stopped when he got too old to keep it up.

It’s important to get it passed now. So why are Dems adding pork and they didn’t challenge the accusation nor did they bring the point up you are harping on. Prove your own assertion here.
