Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I'm with ya, schultzy is my best friend " I know nothingk"

The minuscule sum of human knowledge pretty much puts us all in that boat, doesn't it?

On the bright side, my wife didn't have to yell at me this morning over my ability to take 10 minutes to choose the best buy on paper towels and toilet paper, because there was only one brand of each in the store.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

I'm not blaming you for being cynical.. I just see things as being unprecedented, and us trying to buy back some time for having our pants down. I don't believe people will be dying in the streets unless our government continues to prove to be completely inept.

9/11 brought us the Patriot Act and TSA because it was an unprecedented event. If you think the powers that be won't use their newly allowed authority again you are fooling yourself.

Takes that pressure to make the right decision down to zero. #benefitsduringcorona

I wont be surprised if there is a total lockdown in the US soon just like is about to happen in New Zealand.

They could be blowing their nose with one hand and signing away our rights with another. Can't wait to see the legislation that comes from this both State and federal.

Still using Italy as my worst case barometer.

At .001 infection rate with .10 mortality rate.

If we copy that over 300,000,000 Americans, I get 30,000 deaths.

Just looking for honest debate. What am I doing wrong here?
I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Now that the "new" drugs are working so well in France, and we'll be using them here in mass within 24 hours, I see that number dropping big time. Those with immune problems-may not do so well, but is a condition that would be bad no matter what the "virus" was, to include the flu. Once we break down where the vast majority of the deaths will occur (NY, CA, WA), the rest of country can get back to work. BTW we lose more Americans than that Every Year from auto accidents!

No, I'm fully aware that is going to happen. It's just that outside of voting out those responsible, no amount of barking or civil disobedience is likely to change that.

Don't let me stop you, though. And I know I won't.

New Zealand=no friend of the US. New Zealand, during WWII received nothing but help from the US, no telling how many Americans died to protect these guys. They now have a "NO American Navy Ship that is capable of carrying a nuclear weapon is allowed to port there"!!! Nuclear weapons can be so small, that means Every U.S. Navy Ship! I'd be willing to bet, if they were in military trouble, they'd be on the phone to Washington, "Can you come and save us again-we'll wave the policy until you've fixed everything for us.....".

I guess I'm just surprised (more than I should be) how people are willingly accepting and even advocating to be placed under house arrest.

I'd suspect they use this to require mandatory medical exams for everyone to make sure they don't have the virus. At which point they'll collect everyone's DNA. No way do we as a society come out of this with the same amount of rights as we had before this started.

It comes from both sides of the aisle.... all of us just play along

Do you think that's how people are looking at it? I mean, more people would be upset if that's how they chose to view it. I suppose if one could convince those who think they are being responsible, that they actually have a boot on their neck, maybe there would be an uprising. It might prove to be the most ill-conceived uprising in history, but I suppose it could happen.

I had several interactions on FB, mostly women and their response is pretty much the same: "we should just as we are told." I can't believe so many say that

There will be no uprising, I see people in this tiny microcosm of a society that I thought were opposed to .gov overreach advocating for draconian .gov overreach.

After all of this is over people will line up at the polls and happily vote for these politicians that never missed a paycheck because "they kept us safe".
