Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

LOL. Exactly. People are getting all spooled up over 'rates' when as more cases are discovered, and survived, those rates will drop.

I'm in NY right now and I can't wait to get the F out of here. I have been alone in my apartment for 2 days, and I am going to the airport in about 4 hours to get on a virtually empty flight to go home where I will sit until this blows over.

I hope you have some food at the house....it's a bitch going to the grocery store w/the shelves being empty.

Email them and let us know. With some reports saying people took 24 days to show symptoms it may need to be a month. Not sure anyone actually knows what we're dealing with here.
Email who? You quoted no one so it would be assumed that was your opinion

On the bright side, you won't be stuck in traffic getting to LGA. Be sure to spray down your Uber though. People commonly call an Uber to get to the hospital because it's faster than getting an ambulance.

I would think the expectation is the death rate would lag significantly for a week or two as testing increases. If 5,000 people are confirmed as ill today, whatever percentage of these cases ultimately result in serious cases, death, or recovery won't be factored for a week or two. I would think the increase in the denominator will lag the increase in the numerator by the duration it takes for the illness to run its course.

That 98% of cases in the United States are still active, and therefore the death rate cannot yet be known without any sense of what the recovery rate is, has been explained by numerous people numerous times here to little consequence.

I'm not sure if your explanation, which is quite eloquent, will amount to anything more than another scream into the void, but I appreciate it all the same.

You can either do it and bite the bullet or you can let it drag on well in to Fall. Your scenario is the same in either. Jobs comes back quicker in mine.
Not sure how you come to that conclusion when a 2 week quarantine solves nothing. It causes a temporary decline in cases that will rise again when people resume activity. So what will you suggestion be then? Another 2 week quarantine? This will virus will likely drag into the summer regardless. And since we're 12-18 months from a vaccine there's no preventing it either.

Have those at high risk stay home. Keep sports, concerts, etc on hold to avoid mass gatherings. Keep practicing social distancing. Work from home if you can. But keep the economy moving.

Project Strategic Shopping my have to be resurrected. Who are the grocery suppliers? Understand the logistics and follow these trucks to the grocery stores. That or sit outside until they open for essential items that are getting bare because of panic.

There have been a few rumblings about it, but at some point the fact that any politician, NBA star, or movie star can apparently get tested by making a phone call even when next to no symptoms, whereas people who are sick have to get a doctor's order and go to a drive through set up just seems wrong.
No way????? Do you really think NBA players, movie stars or politicians really give 2 sh!ts whether a kid gets tested or not? Just as long as they get theirs right? They're so busy posting tone deaf videos of themselves singing and telling everyone to be thankful for what they have blah blah blah. F#ck them!
