It really makes no sense.... during the H1N1 outbreak.... 57,000,000 Americans or 1 in 6 were sickened over a 9 month period....almost 27-29,000 were hospitalized per month and over 10,000 died in America...... the response wasn’t anywhere close to this.
"While the U.S. H1N1 infection and death numbers are accurate, they reflect a year’s worth of data, as opposed to the numbers for COVID-19, for which the first death in the U.S. was reported less than a month ago. The media and public response to H1N1 in the U.S. cannot be accurately described as “totally chill” ."View attachment 267635
I know these aren't the current numbers.... But it does fit the overall picture.

Partly false claim: COVID-19 and H1N1 numbers compared; the public was “totally chill” during the H1N1 pandemic of 2009-2010 while COVID-19 is causing “mass hysteria”

Love how this “check” conveniently leaves out mandatory quarantines, stock market crash, economic ruin, and runs on paper products and cleaners.
Yes, compared to H1N1, this is absolutely mass hysteria vs total chill in terms of reaction.
Who knows what the actual death rate is, but the point you're making is what everyone is ignoring. The big scare to Fauci, CDC, etc is the high death rate. If these numbers are close to accurate 1 mil Americans would have died of H1N1 if it had the same mortality rate. That's what nobody seems to grasp. While I tend to agree, the current 1.3% death rate (though hopefully will fall) is 7x higher than H1N1 was (0.2%).

The medical professionals I do business with say that the unique way this attacks the lungs is brutal. Due to second hand smoking as a child, my father-in-law only has 3/4 of one lung. Thankfully he's managed it well and taken good care of himself and basically has no issues. This virus would very likely be terminal for him. He's not someone that's in a nursing home and has one foot in the banana peel already.
Apples to oranges at this point. We are only 1-2 months into this. Way too early to make the comparison.Love how this “check” conveniently leaves out mandatory quarantines, stock market crash, economic ruin, and runs on paper products and cleaners.
