One of my bar owner friends in Nashville had to literally board up his windows and glass doors this week because looters threw rocks through them and stole a bunch of stuff - several other closed bars and restaurants have had similar issues here. Lots of lose-lose situations in this mess.

It's pretty simple for most privately owned businesses with a conscience. They want everyone to be safe but also want their employees to be able to provide for their families.

Hard choices are having to be made with the main goal for their to be a company to come back to once things settle down. Not all business owners are liquid enough to take a drastic hit without layoffs. Short term layoffs or fewer hours are heartbreaking for most involved but are necessary for long term company viability.

It's up to each employee to accept that and request available relief from government or hold a grudge and move on from the job they resent for making the tough decisions that give them a fighting chance for the future.

Rewatching the USCe game and seeing that 2-5 record, wow...to think we then won 6 straight...crazy.

I remember Rucker posted an article before the USCe game about our road map to making a bowl game and most outright laughed at it. Just goes to show you, never write off a team until the last game is over. Most especially a Vols team.

I said my companies are open. I figured it would be a tldr post if I told all of the preventative steps we are taking. You're the asshat that just assumed I'm chasing dollars, when in fact I'm losing money doing what I'm doing. I'm taking care of my people as long as I can, because as soon as i shut them down, they will be making a fraction of what they are now...if anything.

Oh and by the way...every single one of my employees got an extra $500 in their check (actually a separate check) Friday. Across all businesses. Just to help with extra expenses while trying to stockpile or whatever they need it for.

Growth rate staying steady. Really hope it drops after accounting for lag with more testing. Given all the new new restrictions, we'd expect a drop in rate soon. On our way to 20k+ new cases daily in 3 days without a drop.

Question for older posters, as I am. We’ve seen Desert Shield and Storm, 911, H1N1, swine flu, SARS, etc, I’ve never seen this level of Government (not public) involvement, and think that has driven some of the panic and concern we see. Yes, I read on it everyday, because my workplace. This is surreal.

I tried to warn of that last week, and got shouted down and called a bastard...but I may have deserved it for being a smartaleck...I am still not sure about that.

I wonder how this will impact the south....We have high rates of DM, obesity, smokers, COPD, HTN, and CAD. Super high risk population for this virus imo

i went thru the whole thing in two days, really like that all the actors get to play 2 roles, and even when killed off.... not dead
