Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Now the Komifornia has a statewide lock-down, what are they doing with their huge "live on the street and shoot drugs" population? Are they just over looking what ever they do? Maybe they don't want to step on any used needles, or human crap-interesting.

Don’t know about Cali but word is that Bellingham Washington is rounding theirs up and putting them in the high school.

I think the virus and the deaths are real.

However, the threat and the reaction to the threat are overblown... possibly for a more sinister purpose.
I do not think for even one millisecond that the deaths are not real (those in the US), and yes the virus is real. Your suggestion that there may be a more sinister purpose, or that a more sinister purpose is being exploited by those with bad intentions, has merit. When you compare other deadly vectors (such as the Flu) the number of deaths is so much higher the panic is not equal. When 1,000,000s are tested, I believe we'll find out the Red Chinese woohoovirus will have killed fewer Americans than the Flu, or auto accidents, or the opioid epidemic, etc. IMHO, the dems wouldn't mind at all if the economy tanked for years to come, as long as it allowed them to take power-they are similar to hitler and stalin in their "power at any cost" campaign-if they ever get the chance, they'll cancel the Constitution, and write a new set of rules that will elevate them to a ruling class in perpetuity. It'll will start the same way it always does, the way it started under hitler, stalin, Fidel, Mao-get all the firearms from the citizens.

With the number Komifornia has, they'll need a lot of High Schools!!! That is just what they need, more drugs and dirty needles laying around a CA school! I wonder how long it will take before the entire school is full of human crap? I may end up being cheaper to bulldoze the entire set of buildings, and start over, than to try to clean it up. Every inch may end up on the EPA's hazmat list.

A lot of people are going to be socially isolated. Things that were important for them, like sports games, which feed a sense of solidarity, are going to go away. So it would not be an unreasonable prediction that suicide rates and drinking and drug overdose would go up during this pandemic. The big question, of course, is how long people will put up with that.

taxes thats why

Ahh... interesting. Well, we already know what NY will do if you mess up their sin tax racket.

Liquor stores and coronavirus: New York says stores can stay open

That's why all the folks on Rocky Top get their corn from a jar...

How well did America do with prohibition? We've already been there and done that and it epically failed. You have an entire country of people already full of fear(there are exceptions obviously), you virtually force isolation, you strip away what they do daily and what entertains them. Let all of that sink in for a minute...

Now, come out and tell all those people they can no longer buy liquor and and all of those stores will be closed. I can promise you the shlt would hit the fan.

You make a compelling argument for decriminalizing reefer during a state of emergency...

How long should we shut it down for? What’s the proper time it takes to fully collapse the economy?
All I'm saying is that they are going to eventually do this anyway. You know it's true. Better now when the virus hasn't spread everywhere and it can be over with sooner. If not, then we can let it go with half ass measures like now, and then have to shut it down like Italy when it's too late. We head into the fall with nothing changed.

We went to a restaurant recently, I've posted about it recently so I won't go into detail but I feel horrible for the family that owns the business, I don't think they will survive the economic impacts. It pained me to see the concern on his face knowing all they've been through and scarified to do things the legal way.

The sad part is there is an idiotoc view by the masses that somehow govt can just freeze time and solve everyone's economic issues on the other side.

Everyone needs to go back to living and behave like their is a really bad flu season in effect.

I’m waiting on the banks to put a freeze on everyone’s’ savings accounts and letting the government dip into those accounts.

What is hard for you to understand? If the facts about the risks are made available then everyone can choose how much risk they are willing to take. If I go out in public I’m only interacting with people willing to take the same risks so I’m not endangering anyone more than I am endangering myself.

You’d be endangering more people than the ones you directly interact with, so no. If you infect someone it’s going to affect more than just that one person, it’s a virus

If any of you on this string (those with a brain) have a few minutes you can go back and ID the complete fools-many panic fanning, commie sympathizers predicted most of us would be dead by now. The emergency rooms would be full of bodies, millions would be infected and at least 3.4% of those would be dead of dying. Yet, here we are 21 march, and in the entire US we have less than 160 dead. The vast majority of those that have died are elderly-most had pre-existing conditions. We have people that either work in ERs or have family members working in ERs, they've reported the conditions are just terrible, yet we have less than 160 dead. If panic killed we would have millions dead. If stupid panic killed, we'd have 10's of millions dead. Yet, here we are less than 160 dead. What's going on???? Could it be that some people are not only in a panic mode, but they aren't telling the truth?
We're just in the beginning. If you let the healthcare system get overwhelmed we will turn in to Italy. It may be already to late to keep from happening.

Vanderbilt set up beds in their parking garage.
