Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Hope it doesn't get any worse. Are you still going to work at the hospital or clinic where you do your nursing thing?
I've been off since last Friday. They have 2 others they wouldn't clear to come back. Oc health is so overloaded they haven't called me back to clear me for sat and Sunday. ICU short to begin with, now they are shorter.

What is the end game here?

I mean what numbers do we hit before government feels safe enough to give the green light?

I mean the R on the infection rate can drop below 1, which will make rifleman happy as a pig in mud. But wont the case be made it will shoot back up if we all start congregating and relations again?

Florida closing public beaches and no dine-in at restaurants

Wow. Or woe.

This is 2nd only to california shutting down as far as lost revenue. Florida tourism is billions and billions. Its spring break. Wish they would close the roads and make those millions of teens and college kids down there stay there for a couple weeks. You know they all have the Wutang Flu.

A student at our local small college just tested positive for the virus and they were sent home to wherever. The students are always at the local food store where we shop. The college is about a mile from here, and they are shutting down all residence halls, and they have until tomorrow to vacate. A large percentage of the student body is from New Jersey. It has been that way for as long as I can remember.
It turns out that our college student had just gotten back from Spring Break with 7 people in the same car. They have closed the college and evacuated the dorms.

Also, the head chef at the Blackthorn Country club ( formerly The Ridges ) in Jonesboro tested positive for Covid 19. He has just returned from New York City. Glad to know everybody is sheltering in place.

As long as they're under 80 they should be fine.

No problem.

There will be no martial law. Maybe quarantine like in NY and guard members deliver food and medicine door to door.

Martial law is a whole different beast.

We are killing flies with a sledgehammer. Panic panic panic. I am primary caretaker to a 73yo with emphysema and COPD. I recognize the threat to the elderly and It is serious for them.

We are destroying our economy unnecessarily though. People are stupid.

There goes the Tri-Cities

It’s weird to watch how the different governors are reacting to it . Northram here in Virginia said , since was in the 80s today he encourages people to get out , he also lifted the licenses for restaurants that sell beer and wine so they can sell them to go now .

That's pretty smart. Beer sells are gonna be off the charts. I hope the breweries and distributors are being safe. If they start shutting down.... holy hell
