Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

My dad is a man of few words so I took it as he'd rather risk his health/life than me and my brothers going broke or losing the farm.
That's how I understood it. It flipped a personal switch and had me thinking about my dad and my brother. My dad is 76, lives on the 483 acre farm I grew up on and still works 7 days a week.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting because no doubt that's exactly what he would have said 5-6 years ago, but I think he'd feel different now. I don't know, but now I'm curious.

No. That's why you sound like such an imbecile.

If you've never been married or in public leadership of more than teaching people to time pours by counting bubbles, you'd be better served to refrain from such moronic excluded middles.

I'd be astounded if there was pastoral training that didn't train pastors to abide some form of that policy.

It's still sexist and archaic as ****.

I'm sorry you struggle so mightily to suppress predatory tendencies.

You lead a congregation in the middle of nowhere. Don't presume to think you are a fraction of the leader I've been in the past 4 years.

Checked on my parents yesterday, they self quarentined 3 weeks ago and are doing well. Both in their mid 80's. Neighbors are dropping perishables off to them and checking on them.
I know they are fine when I hear my mother in the background correcting my father. Yup they are fine.

Only if you're able to resist your primal urges and not treat women as talking fleshlights

Been faithful to my wife since the first date we went on three years before we even married. I think it to be admirable for a man not to be alone with women that aren't his wife. You seemed to have made light of Pence for subscribing to that notion.

Pretty darn cynical. It isn't like a male employee couldn't do the same. Suggests other issues, in my cynical reasoning.

I see no reason to take chances. I try to avoid 1 on 1 interactions with female employees especially when it's going to be a negative conversation. Can't always do it but I try to limit them.

It's 2020. There's nothing honorable about it.

"Oh, you're a woman so if I have a meeting alone with you, there's a solid chance I'll either cheat on my wife with you or you'll accuse me of it."

Other than some obscure sect of monk, oddly no castration requirement for Men of God. Seems like it might resolve a lot of these issues.

Read 2 Corinthians 8 to see the command to not only do things honorably, but in such a way that no claim of wrongdoing can be made, and no rumor can take hold. It's the same reason we don't let anyone alone with the offering. It's a group-count. It has nothing to do with distrust of the counters (else they wouldn't be counting), and nothing to do with distrust of the money. It has to do with doing things above reproach for the public integrity of the ministry.

If I wanted to lose all of the years of wisdom and knowledge I've gained over the decades, I'd turn to you for advice on life. Otherwise, I'll pass on your advice and parting shots.

I hope you have a blessed day and get that splinter out of your paw.

I think the problem is that it would require the whole government system to think like preppers and, of course, we've all known those people are crazy... right?

The government already does, it just doesn't care too much about the general population.

Then say it's that meeting alone is the issue instead of limiting it to women. Your wisdom is inherently sexist.

Bless you too, Captain Consent. I pray to my dark lord that you'll one day be able to stave off your carnal desires and treat everyone with equal amounts of respect, regardless of what rests between their legs.

I actually had a great deal of respect for you. It's waned lately, and all but dissipated in the past few days. You're a shill, and you advocate for everything I stand against, then you spout off this ********. You're agreeing with someone who thinks women shouldn't vote, tifwiw.

Peace!

Same guy that refuses to be alone with a woman who isn't his wife? LOL.

Dink you're wrong on this one bro. No man in a position of power and influence like him, or a pastor etc should ever be alone with any woman not family unless in a very public place like a restaurant etc...because in this day and age it opens them up to false claims and lawsuits for many different things primarily sexual harassment or innuendo. This is a well known practice and policy. It has extended itself into simple business practice recently, many men will not have lunch even 1 on 1 with female coworkers due to this risk. While sad, it is reality.

My wife and I trust eachother beyond measure , been together 20 years. Not that long ago she took my neighbor across town to pick up his car. She let me know just so I would know, and would never hear from someone else that my wife was driving around with another man. Whether we acknowledge it or not, men and women are different, and people at large are prone to gossip, and many are prone to infidelity. These are realities. Some people might choose to ignore these facts, but the wise people make decisions with these things in mind and are careful about their social interactions to avoid problems.

Take it easy bro. Cheers.

My intent with "whole government" was meant to include the body politic.

I see. Well, I figure we could cover it with the cost of a submarine. Maybe two. I'm not real sure, somebody can do the math, if they want.

One thing is for sure, our vulnerabilities are no longer a secret.

I respect you Marcus, and you were respectful with your response, so I'm going to respectfully disagree with you.

I work in an industry where I manage a lot of young, attractive women. I've met with them one on one for years, and my girlfriends have never taken issue with it and I've run into zero obstacles because of it.

Record your meetings if it's really about covering your own ass. Not sure how that wouldn't fix the issue.
