Everyone on the globe knows what it means when he says the China virus. And considering China is actively trying to blame the US for their disease outbreak I would say it's fair to call it their disease so the Chinese lie doesnt take root.

To me it just speaks of the rear end of pettiness to actively complain about what he calls the disease that isnt actually offensive. If he called it the slant eye or chink virus I could understand some outrage and him trying to shift blame. But that's not the case.

The chinese lied about it for months, they got the WHO to lie about it for months, but oh Trump called it the China virus, that's what we should be talking about. It must be a real slow day of quarantine to get to this talking point.

Normal is right out the window at my house with my elementary school kids in online learning. I’m seriously considering sharing any long term stock gains with my kids’ teachers. I’ll definitely support any efforts for higher teacher pay across the board.

That said, we have a schedule, work from home, and I think we will manage by observing the social distancing guidelines imposed by our Republican Governor and Republican President.

I’m a huge lifelong fan of not panicking, capitalism, and the Democratic Party - in that order. To blame any of the current public health environment on Dems is just naked partisanship. But hey, that’s politics, right? By the same token partisanship, Trump’s shot at a second term appears to be out the window - as long as the other geezer stays healthy. I take that as a silver lining, but I digress...

Given how China and Korea seem to be emerging from this after apparently proper management (which seemed draconian at first), I think there’s a better than decent chance they’re practicing football by Memorial Day. That is, of course, if we follow instructions, don’t panic, and deal with our cabin fever like grownups.

My tracking of actual daily new COVID-19 cases in U.S.

3/1 = 7
3/5 = 63
3/10 = 290
3/15 = 737
3/18 = 2848

Though the transmission rate is definitely dropping, new testing coming online and a hot spot in NYC is causing the daily numbers to jump way above what a trend line of the increase in all cases up until now would suggest. The actual national transmission rate is probably much lower than it appears.

My prediction ranges for new confirmed cases for the next 5 days are below. If we start to dip below these it will be good news. These are higher than they were yesterday as they incorporate the very big daily number from 3/18.

Predicted Ranges

3/19 1990 - 2431
3/20 2830 - 3460
3/21 3990 - 4870
3/22 5560 - 6800
3/23 7690 - 9400

At the current rate of decrease the virus would peak in late April.

Watching to see if the decrease in transmission everyone expects starts to show up and my projected ranges start to be way too high instead of way too low as they have been the past two days.

During the press conference yesterday the lady warned spring breakers that there was 31 year olds fighting for their life. Said the data from Italy and France shows a complete different situation than once thought that it can only kill elderly.

Last I checked, average age of death in Italy is 81. So no, it isnt showing a different situation.

Who cares. I think the lesson here is they shouldn't have cranked up there propaganda that our military released it in China.

I'm glad he's pushing back. Their virus is going to kill no telling how many and we're worried about correctly calling it where it started?? It's killing 20 to 90 year olds. You have more important things to worry about than some BS PC.

The point is this kind of trolling serves no purpose and is only directed at a small group who giggle when he does it. To trump, quit acting like a child and realize the position you're in. Use that to guide the country out of this mess

It’s obviously intentional - like Reagan calling the Soviet Union the evil empire and Bush 41 intentionally mispronouncing Saddam and Obama referring to ISIL. I don’t think it’s really aimed at liberals.

As someone who probably isn’t that much older than you, I find myself more disappointed than angry. This should be a part of your memory library, like Chris Farley movies or Top Gun or some of the other great quotable movies. Whatever though, retire to your nerd book club with your fellow comrades.:cool:

I don’t know the origin of the quote, but Mr. Joe Biden recently used it as an “insult” towards a woman at a rally or in some forum where he was attempting to rally the troops.
