Starting last week, testing was available (very limited) at the NC state lab, so it was reserved for critical patients, which we had none. At the end of last week, LabCorp started offering tests with a 3-4 day turnaround (because it’s a send out to LabCorp, not ran in-house) that we are running now, as indicated. We’re a small, rural hospital, so we have sent out five tests so far this week.Have you just received testing kits or have you had kits for a while?
I have never heard of it being used for viral prophylaxis, but it has been used as malaria prevention for decades. Geriatric ID is not my specialty though.
With every American submitting to a test , would we be giving a big , country wide sample of DNA to the government as well ? Heck , may solve some crimes
That actually sounds really good... Haven't had one of those in quite a while!Looked at the study. Maybe it will work? That being said that's all anecdotal unknowns. I will say this though...I am enjoying a gin and tonic right now which has a very moderate amount of quinine and I'm feeling pretty immune.
Good grief. My sister in law I mentioned a few days ago who worked for tge Dr that didn't wanna test, she's now at home from work. They finally tested the same patient, and she was positive. So everyone there has went for days interacting like normal after someone who is positive has been in their office 3 times.
That's terrible. Is the entire office being quarantined? If they were not using full PPE while taking care of the patient, they should be.My sister in law I mentioned a few days ago who worked for tge Dr that didn't wanna test, she's now at home from work. She says they're not all quarantined right now, or as of when she left yesterday. There were state people there, or someone, pitching a fit at the way that Dr handled the whole thing. She figures he's gonna be in some trouble. She called my wife several days ago complaining because this lady was saying she had been exposed, but he refused to test her. He was afraid if she had it, then they'd be shut down. That's terrible. Is the entire office being quarantined? If they were not using full PPE while taking care of the patient, they should be.
Well, that's sorry as hell. Now look how many people have been needlessly exposed. The whole office should be quarantined. She says they're not all quarantined right now, or as of when she left yesterday.
