Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

That number will grow quite a bit. How much it grows is solely dependent on how we respond. If we continue to go about our lives using your mindset, God knows how many will pass from this.

Likely to lose 30,000 to 40,000 this year from it.

Which probably isn't much different than yearly car or flu deaths.

New polls show effect of right-wing media's dismissive and conspiratorial coronavirus coverage - CNN
Two polls released this week show the troubling effects that weeks of dismissive and conspiratorial coverage of the novel coronavirus from Fox News and other right-wing media outlets and personalities had on the American public.
The irresponsible coverage had a real effect.
Agreed, the way the left wing led media has covered this is very dangerous but they had an agenda

Coronavirus: California Prepared for Martial Law Possibility

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said Tuesday that the state is prepared for the possibility of declaring martial law in an effort to combat the spread of the Chinese coronavirus.

“[W]e have the ability to do martial law … if we feel the necessity,” Newsom said during a press conference on California’s ongoing response to the deadly illness. In what would be an extraordinary measure, martial law is the suspension of ordinary law and the imposition of direct military control of a population. The governor has already placed the California National Guard on alert for humanitarian duties, including food distribution and public safety activities.

California, which approved $1.1 billion in emergency funding on Monday, may exceed the state’s roughly $21 billion in reserves, warned Newsom. “The magnitude of this moment may exceed those reserves,” he said.

On Wednesday, Baltimore reported a fifth person who has been infected with the virus. The Baltimore Sun reported, “The five confirmed cases in Baltimore involve a person in their 60s, a person in their 70s and three people in their 20s, said health commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa. All are in ‘good to stable condition.’”

Young stated, “I want to reiterate how completely unacceptable the level of violence is that we have seen recently. We will not stand for mass shootings and an increase in crime. For those of you who want to continue to shoot and kill people of this city, we’re not going to tolerate it. We’re going to come after you and we’re going to get you,” as CBS Baltimore reported.

You mean "Marshall Law."

I think you are going to see a major manufacturing shift over this. “Just in time” inventory modeling is hugely problematic when dealing with supply issues. Manufacturing **** in China bc it’s cheaper is a huge problem. Hell they basically threatened to withhold medicine the other day. That’s an act of war IMO if carried out. I suspect you will see incentives/tariffs/laws that prevent this going forward. Can you imagine, in the middle of the Cold War 1970, saying here Russian here’s a ton of our IP and please produce this critical stuff for us? Hell no. Yet we did it.

I am not saying we shouldn’t manufacture **** in China. I am saying there are things we have no business manufacturing outside the US.

Joe Biden Demands Trump Invoke Defense Production Act – Minutes After President Does

Joe Biden continues to lead just a few minutes behind.

The former vice president issued a demand on Wednesday that President Trump invoke the Defense Production Act related to coronavirus recovery products.

Biden’s plan says to “prioritize and immediately increase domestic production of any critical medical equipment required to respond to this crisis — such as the production of ventilators and associated training to operate — by invoking the Defense Production Action.”

“This action must be built on forecasted demand, using the best modeling currently available for negative scenarios,” he wrote.

But just minutes prior, Trump did just that.

Well, at least he learned one thing in 8 years as Obama's understudy... how to "lead from behind".
