Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Still think a targeted, strict, quarantine to the at risk population AND their caregivers is the better approach. Worst case scenario would be probably the same number of deaths in the at risk community, and a bunch of young healthy people maybe getting sick, maybe showing symptoms and the economy survives.

Again, I agree but the rest of the world won't go for it, let alone the US.

Agreed. The "do anything" mentality is extremely dangerous and will likely lead to undesirable effects in the years to come.

Spending, economic repercussions, and govt power grabs concern as much, if not more, than the virus.

.gov spending and overreach worries me 100x more than the bug.

Even if health officials and government officials 'man up,' do you really think people are going to go back out and spend money?

**** has already hit the fan.
After dropping like a rock for several days, from all-time highs of 2500-2600 (dollars a troy oz) just a week ago, palladium bottomed yesterday - at least for now - at 1585 and came back a bit this morning to 1630.

Great news, although this is the first I've heard of it. What kind of surgery?
Had her bladder removed last year, and they didn't remove the sling when the took the bladder. It grew into her insides, causing bad infections constantly.

40k is far under the most conservative estimates, dude.
Where are these estimates?

I looked at the infection and mortality rates posted yesterday for each country. AllVol's numbers are worse than China or Italy. Right now Germany and the Swiss have the best numbers.

The economy will survive but it is not more important than human life. You and every other person who opposes the shut-downs conveniently forgets that non at-risk people can be carriers and infect at-risk folks.

Not to keep getting off topic, but thought I'd update since a few asked. Surgery for my wife is over, everything went good. Had to cut a little more than expected, but she's good. Thanks for asking, praying, and thinking about her.
Awesome news! Maybe you can attend UGA spring game to celebrate since you're such a huge fan.

You looked at the current rates. These are also rates that only reflect those who have been tested.

CDC estimates are where I got mine.

Nope, just stated a fact. All things end. We just don't know when this one does.

People I am on the opposite side of on this, have stated there is belief Iran and Italy are showing signs of stabilizing and leveling off. And again, I took the worst numbers from Italy and added 50%.
And assume death in 20% of infections.

That's not a tangible reason for him to cave.

Know why he caved? Re-election. So, he's either a p*ssy or he out his reelection before the economy.

It is. Everyone has a limit. When someone gives you a report with millions dead, your stomach tightens up. No matter who you are.

And why are we on him now? I dont care about the politics. People need to see numbers that give them confidence to get back to life.
