Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

If they know what they are looking for and have a reason to look for it. It may seem callous, but, if it's an elderly person with underlying compromised health conditions, I'm pretty sure at the onset of flu season, they are looking at the obvious, old, already sick, flu symptoms due to virus, weakened, pneumonia, breathing difficulty, dead. Not a surprise. I don't think they would look too far or too hard until they had an outbreak from the same nursing home like, say, Kirkland, Washington.

If you think those were the first cases of CV-19 in this country, well, . . . I don't think so.

The point is, they were probably not all jumping on jets to the US immediately. I imagine it spread a little outside of the contained area, but that doesn't mean that those people were frequent fliers.

Dont buy it.

Inside the country, this would spread easily. People travelling all of the country all the time.

In regards to the US, too much traffic back and forth for it to take 4 months. 1 person on any plane in all those days is all it took.

Is it common sense to tell scientists that have spent their lives studying pandemics they are wrong? Or do you lump them into the broad basket of "fear mongering libs"?
It’s not they’re wrong about the potential impact but that’s only one piece of the puzzle. You have to take into account the impact of any mandates or changes and weigh the pros and cons of different options. What’s funny is all the Trump haters, like you, that are saying we are doing the right thing are essentially saying Trump is doing the right thing. So now you are defending him and the actions taken.

The Wuhan Tianhe International Airport connects Wuhan with major world cities, offering regular domestic and international flights. Historically, Wuhan has been one of China’s most important inland river harbors, its role in domestic transportation lending it the title of “Chicago of China”.

Just seems improbable that it took 3 months for somebody to almost die from it or people were almost dying from it without it being identified, plus it first shows up here in a (Air)port city with lots of travel to China and is spreading to large cities with regional airports and into rural areas in a fairly predictable pattern. The last part could be self-fulfilling to some extent since testing is still limited.
It all seems improbable thus our reaction. What’s really improbable to me is the amount of economic activity and business travel between the US and China and it takes us three months after them to develop cases of this highly contagious disease.

Well, we don't know, but the first US cases seem to be in the Pacific Northwest.. didn't have to come from an air traveler.. could have come from a ship. Some infections that spread throughout China eventually made it to Europe, then here in some instances. Doesn't seem likely we were the main incubator, outside of China.

Someone is probably putting it together, but I imagine there still isn't enough data.

Should be able to pin it down with more data.

nah, but figuring out a timeline within the US shouldn't require their data.
What difference, at this point, will it make?

Also, before CV-19 was even heard of, many people went to the Doc and were diagnosed with a "virus". "Which one, Doc?" "Don't know." How far back are they going to be able to look?

Bet you Kirkland was not the first case in this country.

Who knows. Is it standard protocol to keep samples from deceased people from months ago.

If someone died of this in Seattle 3 months ago, we would have access/ability to prove it?

Donny wants all his leg-humpers to rest soundly tonight knowing that he still is, in fact, a xenophobic bigot.

Wonder how it would have gone if Obama had called Sandy Hook a "Caucasian mass shooting."

Pretty sure the subject zero(s) have a good chance of still being alive and have recovered. The question is, can they tell if someone has had it and recovered? I imagine so, but it wold be harder to put it all together the longer they wait.

I just have to think this is being done by those who are paid to do it.

He has to attach an insulting nickname to anything or anyone he dislikes. It's the 12 year old in him.
He must have endured some cruel nicknames as a child.

Yet another straw.
Damn well better not be a plastic straw, or . . .

Then why did you post this in response my post regarding the International Airport in Wuhan if you were just interested in the US data?

I just wasn't taking it for granted on way or another, where it came in from, I guess. Maybe we will be enlightened, eventually.
