as an objective observer, i'd just say that this post here, basically insinuates that you're not picking an argument to pass the time, but rather, to correct the original post....

then from here, we got our dictonary/geography lessons....

now back to your regularly scheduled programming....

The issue is sharing information is being assumed to be condescending. You & charger both are applying that assumption not me. I can't change how you perceive what you read though, so I'm not going to sweat it.

Letting it go would mean not continuing to reply and quote my post...I thought that's what he wanted to do, but I guess not.

So I'll argue the rest of the day with anyone that wants to say there aren't 7 continents or that Mexico isn't in North America.

Absolutely. Because everyone knows you’re more likely to catch it after 8 pm. Apparently Coronavirus is nocturnal
My grandpappy used to say nothing good came after 8. I thought he was just being conservative on the "nothing good happens after midnight" adage. Years later I learned he simply never learned to count past 8 and was skeptical of any number that was higher than it.

I may have told this story before. It happens. I’m old so it comes with the territory. Anyway, I think I was probably 20 or 21 at the time. Yes, this is a sea story from my navy days. So I’m on watch, nuclear powered fast attack submarine, engine room upper level. Among the other equipment and systems on my watch station are the evaporators, the equipment used for turning saltwater from the ocean into freshwater for various needs of the people and the systems onboard.

While making my rounds one hour I notice than we had some water running on the deck and it shouldn’t be there. I investigate and it turns out the isolation valve between the steam driven evaporator and the saltwater supply line coming from the hull of the submarine is leaking pretty significantly. This is called flooding.

I’m pretty close to maneuvering (engineering control room) so I casually walk over to the entrance and announce to the engineering officer of the watch and the others inside that we have flooding in the engine room upper level. All hell broke loose. I was somewhat amused. I had investigated and thought we could handle the problem but it’s my duty to report the problem before taking action just so I’m not the only one who knows there is an issue.

Anyway, we got it all fixed but there was a lot of consternation directed at me by everyone else because in my initial report I apparently hadn’t either been excited enough or panicked enough. I still think it was amusing the way everyone else reacted. I’m sure they did the right thing and I’m just odd like that.

So while we have this serious crisis going on right now with regards to the virus, which I may end up catching, and being old may have systems that can’t offer the most resistance, I still find the overall reaction a bit amusing. I told you I was a bit odd about stuff like this. jmo.

Clearly it’s a serious matter and I hope and pray that every one of you and yours stay safe but I just don’t think it really helps all that much for folks to run around as if their hair was on fire. jmo.

Seriously, be smart, be safe, and if I don’t make it through this crisis, for the record, I just want it known that after much research and analysis I have become convinced we will win the East this football season, or at least would have if we had survived. jmo.
