Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

come on out... nobody will touch you.. but don't touch the doorknob!
My life hasn't changed a bit, went out drinking Thursday and Saturday nights, went and got my pups some food yesterday, went to the grocery store yesterday and have been at work every day. I'm not the one in the bunker

Bill Lee just said he recommends Tennessee school districts close until at least April.

Figured that was going to happen at some point. Even in districts not currently experiencing any issues within the county. I guess it makes sense so this doesn't lag on for a while.

Way I read it is

Best case scenario- numbers continue to climb then we see a downtrend in infection starting mid-April.

Worst case scenario- numbers continue to climb till mid-june
Depends how severe it is. As long as it's within healthcare capacity, the sooner it peaks, the better.

Seems like the tweet is missing a key variable: rate of climb.

That didn’t mention anything about people dying and wasn’t from before all this stuff started..... it is talking about more people coming to the doctor now bc they are worried about the Coronavirus.

It didn’t? You may want to look again. More importantly, the DHHS and CDC track these numbers religiously.

That link says nothing definite. It's just a bunch of maybe, could be, and possibles. With hardly any numbers.

It certainly doesn't say there's been an increase in deaths like you claimed. .

Coronavirus cases would be hiding in influence/flu numbers but I haven't seen anythjng yet to confirm we've had an abnormal amount of illness/death up before March. I would be interested to see numbers though. It might help give a reference on how the virus has progressed now that we're testing.

Nursegoodvol made it sound like she's seen an increase the past 3 weeks. RIckyvol makes it sound like he hasn't seen it. My sister is a nurse and she said so far it's been a mostly normal flu season where she lives with nothing abnormal. But they are changing their test protocols this week.

Exactly, this is still happening and it’s a new virus, there are no definitives. If that’s what you’re looking for you’ll be sorely disappointed.

In western PA it has been a bad “flu season” but normal amount of positive flu tests. Abnormal amount of young people intubated and on echmo without a definitive diagnosis.
