Treating a viral infection is pretty much the same across the board and none of it requires exceptionally specialized equipment or drugs. Are you trying to tell me that Italy isn't doing those things?

Or are you saying that because they got overrun due to this they stink at it? Here’s a comprehensive overview of Italian healthcare. It looks pretty good to me, definitely top 5ish in the EU. Rated really high in acute care as well, which directly relates to treating a virus.
