Hopefully by then there'll be a viable vaccine and this thing goes the way of the flu..... Endemic.

Then we'll deal with it, we'll adapt as we always have. Until then, the only way to keep this thing from killing people is to limit exposure. That means staying away from crowds where ONE person might infect a couple of hundred (or more). Who then might go on to either die, or infect someone else who dies. And those dead people are a result of ONE sick individual (who might not even have known they were infectious) .

Now multiply it out, consider the potential consequences and think about how stupid, stubborn, individualistic people are and won't do what's best for the group as a whole because they think they know better than damned near every doc in the country.

Now, sure, people die from things all the time. But, ask yourself..... do you want to be the guy responsible for who knows how many people dying simply because you didn't want to stay away? I know I don't.

Not so much what? The US and Canada are far down the list with regards to cases per 1M people and also below the worldwide mortality rate. People point to wonderful Europe but right now our healthcare system is outperforming the free healthcare developed nations.

And do not even try to sell for a moment that it’s just getting to the US. With sheer number of business travelers to China across our economy and geographic distribution around the country the ‘rona has been here for quite a while!

Britain's coronavirus crisis could last until Spring 2021 and see 7.9million people hospitalised, a secret briefing for senior NHS figures has revealed.

The document, seen by The Guardian newspaper, shows that health chiefs expect the virus to last for another 12 months, and details how it will impact key staff in the NHS, police and fire brigade.

It says: 'As many as 80% of the population are expected to be infected with Covid-19 in the next 12 months, and up to 15% (7.9 million people) may require hospitalisation.'

I get it, you mean "below" as in number of deaths, and not geographically.

Anyway, glad you have confidence in our overall resilience. Maybe so.

That would be my assumption... Having the "ingredients" on hand for a variation on an existing vaccine has to make it easier to tweak up a new one.

From what I read earlier, the mortality rates from the flu were horrible versus other european countries.

Your opinion is their system is equal or better than ours? They have a Mayo or John's Hopkins that people from all over the world run to? They have distribution capabilities for medicine and technology on par with us?

He was answering a question about the testing fumble not whether he caused the pandemic. Yes, he is the President and he is responsible. If you will remember about that time when we should have been testing he told us the coronavirus quote: "is totally under control".
