Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

The fear virus.

Spreading exponentially faster and will cause exponentially more damage than corona if the 40 year old women and weak kneed business leaders and govt officials dont calm the f down.
The govt- "There's no need to panic."

Also the govt- "We're shutting down cities, closing businesses, and instituting curfews. "

Next week is going to be silly. Have to make my normal routine grocery trip tomorrow or Tuesday and I'm afraid of what I'll see.

One interesting strategy I saw was that if you want to help local establishments that will struggle during this sh*t, go out and get some gift certificates from them. They can use the money to get through these times and you can get your meals/drinks at a later date.
If they are still open...but I agree with the idea.

I had read that also. Thought it was a great idea.

you will still see empty shelves

To mitigate effects a federal response really should have been taken in Jan/early Feb. News coverage should have picked this up sooner.

But we were in the middle of impeachment so there was no chance of anything happening.

Really surprised Trump hasn't blamed impeachment proceedings for his slow response yet

I go back and watch some of last years on the Master’s app from time to time.

I watch quite a bit of golf, but just dedicted effort to watch the Majors and Ryder Cup. I honestly cannot remember who won last year. Hey, maybe it will be like never having seen it if I watch it again!

I've been on a ladder cutting in the ceilings in the house we are going to sell. When I finish that and cutting around windows, doors, and baseboards , it's roller time. I've taken off all the electrical outlet and light switch covers already. Damn, I miss the Players' Championship and March Madness.

I've got a lot of that coming in my other house. Most of the ceilings are over 10 ft - haven't actually measured, but probably 12 ft. Not looking forward to it at all. I've been debating whether to take down the ceiling tile my dad put up long ago and clean and paint the tongue and groove beaded board or just paint the tile stuff that I hate. If I take down the tile, it means re-positioning all the crown molding - and it's big stuff - not what they sell now; and there's the wall below the crown molding if it gets moved up. The worst part is even though fixed, shoulders with torn rotator cuffs don't work like they used to, and they definitely don't feel as good when working overhead.

If he had come out saying "this is something to take serious and we've got people working on a strategy" instead of "stock market looks good to me we have it containted" then he might could pull that. Especially if he voiced concern in Jan once the virus became much followed. I'm sure his media team or whatever exists is kicking themselves now.

I was so relieved from the good market performance on friday and hoped we would use this weekend to calm down and find our legs. Our leaders are dead set on doing the opposite.
