WaPo’s Jennifer Rubin: There Will Be ‘Less Democrat’ Coronavirus Deaths

Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Washington Post opinion writer Jennifer Rubin argued there would be fewer Democrat coronavirus deaths because they are adhering to suggestions offered by experts and the media.

“[T]here is a particular cruelty, irony that it is their core viewers, the Republican older viewers, who are the most at risk,” she said. “And when you think about it, which party immediately canceled all of their rallies? Which party immediately started having their political figures really portray and use their lives as an example? It was the Democrats. So typically, there will be less Democrat deaths because there will be less mass gatherings. There will be less opportunities for people to congregate and share this horrible disease. So it is really a very short-sided strategy. But I think now the name of the game is how do they get back on planet earth. And part of the way that I think that they are doing it is down the memory hole. He jumped right on this right away because of all this planning that we’re doing so well, which is head-spinning for the rest of us who watched him for weeks say this is a hoax. But this is how they do it at Fox News.

That was a dumb thing to say. The virus is going to spread across every region, age group, and political belief system.

It may take Trump voters a little bit longer to conclude that Trump's comparisons of this to the flu was idiotic, and that he once again had no clue what he was talking about, but they are going to get there pretty quickly as the numbers rise.

The governor of Ohio just ordered the indefinite closure of all bars and restaurants in the state effective at 9pm tonight

I was wondering.....Is he gonna pay the salaries of all those people that he wants to put in dire straights? Will he be paying the rent that's due for all the bars and restaurants that he will put on lock down? This is silly to some degree. People have to get on w/their lives and not be cuddled.

Paying $10-15 for an 8 pound bag of the stuff sold by Fresh Step (Clorox) doesn't do much for my disposition. It's 1/16 to 1/8 inch particles, and over a dollar a pound seems absurd, but I have no idea what bulk prices actually run.
I’m paying about $9/lb for German made material but I have to order at least 1500 kg at a time.

So Georgia is up to 99 cases as of today. Up 33 cases from the 66 reported cases yesterday, but health officials are not saying how many people are being tested. I think the number of "actual" cases are far greater than what is being reported. My concern is that it appears people in their 30's and 40's are being stricken with it. This is like a movie.

Individual health systems are making their own tests now and setting up testing sites because the fed govt can’t/won’t. In the next couple of weeks the number of confirmed cases is going to skyrocket once proper testing is set up by university centers et al.

God knows from our Thanksgiving meals, we all have at least one or two Trumpers in our own families.

Maybe not completely unreasonable then. This stuff is a coarse grind - where yours is probably a lot more uniform and sounds spherical rather than just how the stuff crunches under a mill.

I am sure arrangements can be made. Their lives are more important than that hourly job.
