I feel the worst for these bar owners and workers at the restaurants and bars who rely on things like March madness and st Patrick’s day to be some of their peak days. I tipped a little more when I was out last night to my local bartenders.

I know a new small restaurant owner who was doing well until last week. She has no business now and will soon have to let employees go. She will end up going out of business. I’m still trying to support local as much as possible. If I’m not sick and told I’m not allowed to travel, I’m going to step up to the challenge and dare someone to stop me.

One interesting strategy I saw was that if you want to help local establishments that will struggle during this sh*t, go out and get some gift certificates from them. They can use the money to get through these times and you can get your meals/drinks at a later date.

Either way, PR pressure to do something right works as a sort of corporate “conscience” and the given scenario would be an example of virtue ethics.

It was just a poor attempt to politicize something and I felt the need to correct it. Just having some fun!

Same here, went out Thursday and Saturday nights and the bars/restaurants were empty. It’s sad to see

I have drums of silica gel in small bead form, about 1/8” diameter. If you’re looking for something finer, like a powder, that would be harder to come by. I have used a contractor to grind/mill other materials to smaller particle size which might be an option if you only need a few kg.

Paying $10-15 for an 8 pound bag of the stuff sold by Fresh Step (Clorox) doesn't do much for my disposition. It's 1/16 to 1/8 inch particles, and over a dollar a pound seems absurd, but I have no idea what bulk prices actually run.

I was simply correcting his attempt to politicize something in favor of socialism, when the example was actually philosophically conservative. Have fun going where ever you’re going though...

So Georgia is up to 99 cases as of today. Up 33 cases from the 66 reported cases yesterday, but health officials are not saying how many people are being tested. I think the number of "actual" cases are far greater than what is being reported. My concern is that it appears people in their 30's and 40's are being stricken with it. This is like a movie.
