I'm not sure I agree, but I could see how ultra CYA reliance on testing because of the legal industry has diverted doctors from a path involving experience and accumulated wisdom to following guidelines. It's too bad overall that wise old doctors who've seen a lot are forced to follow the same steps as a newly minted doctor.
