Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yea he's a dumbass for that. There are ways to convey a message of severity and he failed completely I think.
It would have cost him nothing politically--to the contrary, it would have been smart hedging--for him, back in January, to start preparing the public for the challenges ahead.

Instead, he acted like everything was fine until--wham!--the market tanked and everything started shutting down. Seen that way, it's not surprising the public has responded with panic buying.

4% of 12000 is 480 cases identified. A very high percentage here will also be negative, but for every one you catch early you can keep others from becoming infected and so on. See how it works?
Me personally I like the targeted testing opposed to testing everyone that sneezes because they are allergic to Bradford pears

You just need to understand human nature to know that panic buying was coming. That is why we went out and got extra essentials almost 3 weeks ago. It has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with human nature. I saw it firsthand almost 50 years ago, in 1973 or 74 during the gas crisis. It is what people do.

It's almost like the stock market is the only thing he cares about..... Wait. Scratch the "almost".

It’s times like this that make me really appreciate already being a physical distancing antisocial hermit during flu season since I can’t take the flu vaccine.
I'm a hermit too but I work in the lions den of bacteria and viruses. It's my choice to do so. I could become computer programmer but that's not comforting the sick. Not saying I haven't thought about it.

When the markets tanked it was like punching him in the balls. You have to get into his wallet to get his attention.

You folks deserve a soft landing in Heaven for the work you do. I saw it firsthand during my brother's fight with colon cancer, and the 50 days that I stayed in a hospital room with him.

It would have been a good move. But he cares only about the health of the economy and taking any actions in Jan would have started the market panic we see now which is what he was hoping to avoid. Even though it was likely inevitable.

But, and I'm being completely honest, I really believe the Democrats in Jan and the MSM would have blown off any concern he should have shown as "trying to distract the American public from him being impeached". Impeachment was the only thing on tv and ate up every headline.

If he would have declared a national emergency or raised alarm in January it would have been dismissed as trying to distract from impeachment.

There are some amazing memes I'm thinking up if I had the technical skill to create them.

Those of us with social anxiety, being hermits, or just dislike being in crowds would love the idea of going to the grocery and everyone keeping away. Going to work and not have that one annoying coworker practically spoon you because they have no understanding of personal space. We can enjoy life now.

Yes. More people die from the flu, car wrecks, heart disease, cancer, and many other things. Do we ever close the country down for any of those things?

So now he's declared a National Emergency (very big words) over a hoax?

Your guy doesn't have much conviction in his own opinions, I guess.....

I don't think that I have ever had a flu shot, and haven't had the flu in many, many years.

I have never had one . I drank out of creeks , wells and water hoses growing up , played with lead based painted toys and have eaten no telling how many “half worms “ bitting into apples , plums and peaches not to even mention the amount of times I’ve been spayed down with deep woods off , and choking on gasoline trying to syphon it from my dads truck to my mini bike , 3wheeler and motorcycles or all the hours sitting behind a short stack exhaust pipe on a tractor . I’ve spent a lifetime building up my immune system . Lol

Declaring a NE was the result from pointless panic from the media and public. He shouldn’t have done it but I get why he did. Have ever declared a NE over the flu or heart disease?
