It's a bad sound bite, but how is a virus Trump's fault? If a Dem were in office, would you hold them responsible for the spread of a virus? People keep politicizing this. Yes, it could have been handled better, but some things you can't place blame for. **** happens.
Agreed. A "we're working/confidence in medical experts and American resilience/etc" speech.I will agree in that I've said since the man was elected, he would be fine if he would choose his words more carefully and give a little more thought before he speaks on a subject. The response should have been from the get go, "...we are watching this situation. We are concerned with how easily the virus is transmitted and the amount of travel between the US and China that could quite likely spread this virus to the U.S. We are in contact with the CDC and a contingency plan is being discussed and implemented on how best to cope with this virus should it reach the U.S."
Worse than the initial CDC game plan, in my opinion, was his refusal to even acknowledge the public health threat until the market started tanking.Again, his CDC was completely unprepared to perform tests, they even prevented the states from being ready, then Trump blamed people for not getting tested. It doesn't matter who the POTUS is, that's completely pathetic and he deserves all the criticism he gets.
And 96% of those tests were negativePoor response poor leadership. In the weeks since early February, South Korea has been on average testing 12,000 patients a day — about as many as the U.S. has managed to test over the last two weeks.
South Korea's rapid coronavirus testing, far ahead of the U.S., could be saving lives
Yea he's a dumbass for that. There are ways to convey a message of severity and he failed completely I think. A president should be informed and have a reasoned well thought out statement before speaking. Those are not things Trump does at all.Worse than the initial CDC game plan, in my opinion, was his refusal to even acknowledge the public health threat until the market started tanking.
Are you loony liberals really this scared or are you simply doing your part to try and bring this President down?
His response was spot on, actually it was probably more than it should have been. He should have come out and said: calm down you f’ing idiots live your lives there is nothing to worry aboutI'm not doing anything special.....
Your guy is the one digging the hole he's in with an industrial backhoe.
First rule of holes? When you find yourself in one STOP DIGGING!
But, in this case, it would be (in his mind) tantamount to admitting a mistake and he's simply constitutionally incapable of doing so.
I said it earlier in this thread and I think it bears repeating.... He could have all but GUARANTEED his re-election with a better response to this. His hubris in this matter may well be his undoing.
