Not true. Novo Nordisk has a factory in Clayton NC. Largest marketshare of insulin world wide.Nothing that is in that bill affects me directly, but probably does my kids and their families so I'm glad it passed. What I do wish those "public servants" would work on is passing legislation that all drugs critical to the health of our country are made in North America, whether that is in the US, Canada or Mexico. Apparently we haven't even made insulin in this country since 2003. What would happen if insulin stopped being available? This global supply chain crap has got to stop.
Unfortunately that (charity) does seem to be exactly how American companies view Americans, but it is far from the reality they need to see. The consumer and the producer are in a symbiotic relationship - neither can exist without the other. We can't buy goods that don't exist, and producers can't sell products without a market. Consumers cannot be consumers if they aren't labor - because they would have no income. Producers cannot be producers unless they pay labor to make what they sell. I think American companies or at least the people heading up the companies have forgotten that. There's obviously a lot more to the equation, but that's at the heart of it. It's a lesson we learn and then forget when times are good and one side feels it can take advantage of the other as adversaries rather than realizing we are all in this together ... we make it work or we don't.
Just at the Bearden Kroger, only because it is our normal weekly shopping day, not because of the panic. There were literally about 4 packs of TP. Frozen food aisle decimated. Funny thing, plenty of ingredients you would use for cooking from scratch. Lol. Idiots.
You just spilled the beans.I just made a quick run to our dollar general to avoid Walmart shoppers , plenty of TP and paper towels on the shelves and a cart at the end stacked full, I assume for restocking tonight . I didn’t see a self that looked like it had been cleaned out and the cooler was full of milk , eggs , meats .![]()
@I40flyer
this thing has shown to have a doubling rate of every 4 days. At 2300 cases in the us we should know in 3 weeks if all this was overkill?
There will be over 60k cases and Somewhere around 2k dead.
Then it will be freak out time. Or maybe we did all this for nothing.
I used to sit on a food bank board. If you talk to most food banks in many places. You have to give the younger people canned items since they can’t cook things like bagged beans and rice. So with what you see gone. You will either know if it’s older people purchasing or youngerJust at the Bearden Kroger, only because it is our normal weekly shopping day, not because of the panic. I walk out with coffee, a gallon of milk and two boxes of Little Debbies Nutty Buddy’s . That Hussy won’t get off my back , she’s like crack to me . Lol
My Dollar General is a mile from my house. I haven't even thought about checking them out but I will tomorrow sometime.......thanks for the reminder. I like getting the coupons out of Sunday's paper.
They made 4 different types of liquid insulin when I was there. They put billions into a new API mfg area, then they put millions into making new tablet form stuff."we are opening a new tableting and packaging facility in Durham, NC to support an innovative new diabetes treatment."
Maybe at one time they did, but they don't anymore.
Okay I believe you. Where do the raw ingredients come from?They made 4 different types of liquid insulin when I was there. They put billions into a new API mfg area, then they put millions into making new tablet form stuff.
I hope my posts havent come across the wrong way or anything and if they have I did not mean them to. Just sharing the knowledge about INSULIN MFG only. I agreed with the entirety of the rest of your post.
Please trust me, we can and do, very well btw, manufacture insulin in the US today.
Please nobody buy any stock in this sorry ass company.....I will take one for the team and keep buying it so you dont have to![]()
