I'm not a Trump fan either, and he irritates the crap out me the way he talks and his use of the word "tremendous". But look past that. He is approaching this the right way. The message is this will be tough, but calm down, the government is opening resources and partnering with industry to address this.

He is not hitting the panic button, which is what the press seems to be hell bent on.

Selling our oil... to ourselves... at a low price. While there's a sh*t of oversupply on the market.

So the strategic reserves are intended for oil shortages. Times of war or other event that disrupts, minimizes or threatens oil supplies.

I agree with all except that I differ on why he is doing this. I do not for one second believe its because he has a clue what he's talking about. It is solely because he refuses to acknowledge, much less deal with, difficult news.

I'll give Obama a break on this and go back to Nixon. Nixon gets blamed for a lot of stuff that I don't have a problem with, but I do blame him for deciding to open doors to China and for being in charge when we decided it would make sense to float the dollar. Watergate was nothing compared to stuff that's gone on since. The MSM vs Nixon was only a precursor to how ugly the MSM war on conservatism has become.

I'm a little behind on the press conference, but if this level of ass kissing by Pence doesn't keep him in as VP, he's gonna be one pissed off dude.
