Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

To all of you fine men and women that serve/served in our Military - Question:

Does the DoD have the ability to set up additional healthcare facilities in the field?

Be it the Army or National Guard?

If needed that is

Wouldn't count on it. The military is downsizing - aka consolidating and restructuring - their medical branches. Already closing off medical care and pharmacies in military hospitals to retirees.

Yeah, man, at several levels. I'd not be expecting a quick response, as most of that stuff is packed away, but should be there if things get that bad.

There is a very small part of me that wonders if we've been mistaking this for the flu for a long time.

My wife started running a fever on Jan 16th, had every symptom. I came down with it the next week. Both tested for flu, strep throat and negative. 100+ fever for about 10 days and serious lung congestion to the point it was hard to breath.

Congrats, you survived the Coronavirus.

And you've been on VN talking to us without warning us?

I'd rather get it and not die personally, so congrats!

It’s not about “you” dying. It’s about “you” spreading the virus to some at risk.
I said we you gullible sheep. Everyone at my work place is healthy and under 45 years old. We all have a much better chance of dying of the flu or in a car wreck on our way to work

Closing school for 2 weeks here after tomorrow. My guess is we’re headed home as well. There’s no way daycares or camps can handle that many kids, and that’s assuming they stay open. Spring break is week before Easter and any travel planned will be excused absences. I must go home now and load my 30 rounders to prepare for what is to come.

When all said and done it will turn out that the virus has been here in the states since Nov or Dec 2019 and thousands of people have already been infected and gotten over it without even knowing they had Corona 19.

Can we start a naming contest for the huge panic?

Sure would be nice if they provided some kind of evidence or explanation other than we know.

That's a pretty substantial claim to make. That they believe Ohio alone has more coronavirus than any country has documented and almost as many documented cases as the entire world combined.
I actually agree more people probably have or had it than we know, but they deal with it for 10-14 days thinking it’s a bad cold or light case of the flu and it passes and then they are good.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if the real number is close to a million worldwide and the real mortality rate is comparable to the Flu.
