Coronavirus (No politics)

I understand that folks in charge of making these decisions are put between a rock and a hard place, but it’s only gonna fuel the paranoia and doomsday scenario folks.

Just precautionary. I think it’s being overblown a bit, JMO. However, I have no problem with these schools or organizations cancelling events. What’s one extra week off or having class online when you can do it and see if numbers start to subside.

Read an article last night about the Washington cases and their patient zero. It mentioned that the virus is genetically mutating about every 20 days or so.

Could those mutations change this virus enough to inhibit chances of immunity after recovery?
I'm not sure where you are getting these sources, but I would seriously question their validity. This is nothing I have read in the medical literature, which I am following daily.

Is this a virus that you really ever rid yourself of? Do we know that after you supposedly recover that you're still not contagious? Could it be similar to HIV in that you could carry the virus for long periods of time and be contagious and not even know it?

It is nothing like HIV. Very similar to known Coronaviruses, which are regularly cleared by the immune system.

Patients have been required to have two negative PCRs, which would mean that you show no evidence of viral shedding and, therefore, are not contagious.

I know it's confusing, as 90% of what I've read on social media, reddit, here, etc is simply not supported by medical/scientific evidence.
