Classes have already shut down at Vanderbilt
As of yesterday, Rice University was planning to resume classes on March 23rd which means no extension of spring break.

Georgetown today announced transition to “virtual classroom” with actual classes canceled indefinitely and told students not to come back to campus if they don’t have to.

No idea. Even if those people got the virus doesn’t mean they would die. Again be aware, but stop panicking

Asthma= roughly 19 million
Heart Disease= roughly 30 million

So with just two underlying conditions that put you a much greater risk for severe illness, that’s almost 50 million Americans without counting the overlap between the two. Now consider the dozens of other conditions that put you at a higher risk...

It’s not about the risk (or lack there of) to healthy people, it’s about the risk that indifferent healthy people pose spreading the disease to high risk populations. The more healthy people who ignore the warnings, the higher chance there is for at-risk people to contract it.

There is a good majority of diabetes(type 2) that could be eliminated if people would change their lifestyle.

Those people should quarantine themselves..... it’s really not that complicated..... work should be the only at risk place they go and do max precautions there.

why are they not healthy ? did someone hold a gun to their head and say smoke cigarettes, drink heavily, do drugs and eat garbage foods ?
I don't know, I guess we can use my wife as an example. Early 50s, never smoked, doesn't drink heavily, no drugs, eats well, and has asthma; probably from a childhood of growing up in a house with 2 smokers.
I guess she could have run away when she was 4.
For those of you more concerned over a brief economic downturn than the lives of others, buy some priorities with that disposable income you so value.

When you do the math it isn't really less alarming.
Only if you know all the numbers beforehand. Telling someone something is 10 times more deadly is meaningless if there's nothing they can reference that's against. Can easily lead to speculation and misunderstanding.
