Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

We've known for decades this was coming yet we are not really prepared for it. No surprise there but that's actually the good news. The bad news there may be something much worse just on the horizon.
Hopefully, this virus is a wake-up call so that we can be more prepared in the future.

How hard is for you to refrain from sensationalizing? Bring something useful to the discussion and you want be called out on it

Who is sensationalizing? Because I correctly use the term "pandemic" and then you correct me (incorrectly) it means I'm sensationalizing? And let's talk about useful information in the conversation. Looking through your posts, I'm having a hard time finding where you've brought anything useful, yourself.

Best way to limit number of at risk patients is to reduce overall number of patients.

Best way to reduce number of patients is to reduce contact between people with the virus and those who do not have it.

Best way to reduce spread is to test and isolate those who do have it until it passes.

This is so obvious. It is tragically laughable that Trump and some of you seem to argue against it. I know why Trump does -- he doesn't want us to know the truth and hopes that his luck to date holds up and he gets out of this.

The only reason I can think of for you to join his irrational line of thought is that you are willingly blind to his incompetence.
It having a 14+ day incubation period severly hinders this approach.

With what is known and still unknown about Covid-19 here’s an internal question I wish everyone on the planet would ask themselves, what’s your number?

How many folks are you perfectly comfortable with infecting and possibly killing, including family and friends, because you won’t take the precautions associated with limiting the spread of this virus or you don’t take the potential this virus carries seriously? Just a thought to ponder🤔

Anyone know how many days since the first confirmed case in the state of Washington and how many confirmed cases currently in that state?

Did you miss the one that said...
1 wash the hands
2 stop picking your nose

Pandemic or sam35demic you or anyone else calling it labeling it does nothing absolutely zero. Perhaps the Biden campaign could use a wordsmith like you.

You obviously under-value information gathering and preparedness... good thing our military doesn’t take the same stance. How many cents of every one of your tax dollars go into preparedness and information gathering if you had to guess? This is no different.

We must quickly make policy decisions to mitigate the spread of the virus based on real time numbers, but that can’t happen without effective testing protocol which we should have been ready to implement a long time ago... but we’re still waiting.

Treatment isn’t the issue, mitigating the spread through protective measures, isolation, and quarantine (if necessary) is. If you’re late to isolate a patient in a healthcare setting because testing isn’t readily available then you may have wasted enough time to infect the rest of your patient population unnecessarily. This isn’t a radical or difficult concept.
The military fights tangible enemies. Viruses are invisible to the naked eye. There really is no comparison.

It's a virus. You're not going to prevent its spread anymore than you can prevent the flu every year.

So from 1 to 200 in about 18 days. To be honest I would have expected a much larger rate given the hysteria.

You can only have confirmed cases if you test people. As of 2 days ago less than 1,900 test had been administered in the US, whether that’s due to a shortage, financial or other such reasons. Nobody seems to know why we aren’t testing more people.
