If people are afraid to go on living because of whether or not someone labels or didn't label something pandemic they have bigger issues.
Humor me if this is labeled a pandemic in the next 5 minutes, what changes? I'm still going to go outside in this amazing weather we have today and go to work tomorrow and I come into contact with several hundred people daily. And if I start to have a fever or anything else like that I will go to the Dr. But guess what I did the same thing before Covid 19
If it changes nothing then why are we discussing? It brings zero to the table. Only brings fears to people who are already filled with plenty of anxieties. No disrespect at all is intended.
Well bully for you. Some folks on this board, or their family members, may fall within the current high risk parameters of this virus and it’s their right to plan and respond accordingly. Even if you disagree, acknowledging their legitimate concerns instead of belittling them, or even ignoring it altogether would make you not come across as a jackass. Suit yourself.

If you're sick, you should already be taking those steps. People with mild or no symptoms are most likely not to seek out tests just as a matter of convenience.Trump slurperism.
The reason to do tests is not to give a cure. It's to tell the person to take steps not to infect others.
None taken but labeling it one may cause private business and others to take this seriously a "shock and awe" type attack if you will. At some point in the next few weeks we may seriously have to consider closing work and schools and if we're not using appropriate terms people may keep saying "just the flu bro" and hurt response.
We start closing “work” we have bigger problems than this virus.
The choice for our leaders is going to be letting this run its course and count the dead later or take aggressive actions like China and now Italy are taking to slow the spread. Either will have negative effects just the question of which one our government has the stomach and political will to endure.

I don't disagree. And my in-laws have called me a jack ass for years but I still love them and visit when I can.
I agree with your assessment that people who have loved ones who are suceptable to this should take extra precautions. But let's not overlook the obvious these families should be done this every year at this time. If someone can possibly die from the flu they are probably aware of the situation the Covid 19 poses
