Georgia is pretty big on freshwater trout.

Is it? I've mostly targeted stripers. I'll be staying at a lake house at Nottely Lake near Blairsville in October to try and get on some big ones again. I didn't even know they survived in pure freshwater lakes but apparently they do, and this one regularly lands 30+ lbers.

I’ve seen stripers in Hiwassee below the powerhouse. They eat the trout. Most people that think they got broken off by a big brown probably had a striper on.

Not far from me at all, and Blairsville is a nice little town. Nottely is a good fishing lake, and Lanier and Hartwell. They all 3 are in this area, and all are known for huge stripers. I've caught some nice ones on Lanier, but no monsters. Had one on, and well, you know fish stories😄.

Sadly I do. Spent a lot of time at Hartwell in my younger years. Little did I know such a racist was right around the corner the whole time. The world is a dangerous place.

Edit: Actually spent some time at Lanier when I was real young too.

Never caught a real freshwater trout. The seatrout we have down here are actually part of the drum family. Of course by my understanding many freshwater trout aren't even technically trout and closer to salmon.
They’re fun to catch and pretty good fighters, but are delicate and die easily.

Bill Elliott is from Dawsonville, which isn't too far from there.

Happy Friday y’all. Forklift charger is programmed to do the Equalize Charge only on Fridays. I figured out how to do it outside, so I am now letting it rip for 8 or 10 hours and don’t have to worry about the H2 or H2S.
