Reasons you should or shouldn't:

Could have fun.
Might catch it might not.
If you do catch it, others with you probably will catch it and vise versa.
If none of you are in the danger zones like age, underlying condition, you'll most likely survive with just flu like symptoms.
If you catch it, you may transmit it to others that could be at high risk (parents, grandparents, etc).
You might get a real bargain if others decide it's not worth the risk and the park and hotels offer deals.

The incompetence (and praise thereof) is amusing. People were sh!tting on China and other countries for their response but our government is doing no better. We had months to prepare for this and it’s still a clown show top to bottom.

The number is per the Fred Hutch/Trevor Bedford research that I'm pretty sure was discussed here last week. Maybe not thousands but about a thousand today and more than doubling each week. It could be more, it could be less. The only way to know would be to have widespread testing available…

How about deaths? That seems like a stat with a pretty high confidence level.

So you have the spread now doubling weekly and deaths at 11.

That about right?

Locally it is 10 (1 is in California). The number of cases are expected to double every 6 days.

Trump is currently working on that with the two largest laboratory providers in North America. Tests should be available in a matter of days if not hours.

Just be prepared. I am being dead serious in saying this that more than likely posters on here from the mid-state already have it. The Corona Virus is different from the flu in that you can spread the virus without showing symptoms and you can carry the virus in your system up to 2 weeks without showing symptoms.

More than likely this guy was sharing it with others for a week + without showing any symptoms. At this point it more than likely is all over the mid-state without infected folks knowing. Some might show symptoms some might not it's just going to be the nature of the beast.

Please elaborate. Other than the State Department employee(s) that brought sick people back on an airplane with healthy people, haven't most of the "real" steps followed sound scientific procedures? The CDC and the local politicians seem to be making sounds moves. Yes politicians are involved and they are so full of it that occasionally a fart comes out the wrong in and everyone gets to make hay, but I don't think anyone is putting politics over public health at this point.

Did you even read what the CEOs from LabCorp and Quest were talking about? Take politics out of it for just a moment and read what the people in the diagnostic industry are saying. They are extremely close in having a test ready. These lab providers are also working with the CDC & FDA to speed this up. Reading comprehension is important.
