Well, of course, it's my description. But try teaching and/or explaining the NBA game to a team of 3rd graders. If they emulate that game, they will get called for traveling, carrying, and no calls on flops. Then, they are wondering why they see it on tv but can't do it in a game. Sure, games do evolve. But, these are basic rules, not ones that are amended based on the age of the participant.
Clearly they have been. Just like defensive rules in the NFL that filtered down.

These are small differences in semantics or interpretation (ie, what defines "gathering"). No "basic rules" have been changed. You get this as an attorney all the time I'm sure.

100% agree. I'm not an LBJ fan, like I was never a Kobe fan. Hell, I was never a Bulls or MJ fanboy either. But I 100% respected them all as greats. Fandom is totally separate and often inexplicable (ie Browns fans). But it's just silly when people want to downplay the greats for personal dislike and cannot separate the two realms. I dislike plenty of greats (Saban foremost) but have total respect for the elite level they have attained in their chosen profession. Some just want to hate the greats and downplay them for tangential reasons.
Every word of this... except the Browns

lol LeBron has 40-60 pounds on Jordan the same contact isn’t going to look like a foul on him, almost every bigger player falls victim to this. Jordan got superstar calls anyways. Do you really think LeBron would average the same FTA/game if he got the same contact as Jordan?
so you're saying LeBron falls all over the place because he weighs more than Jordan? Interesting logic.

I have watched the NBA since I was a kid, and I don't recall seeing many players get away with what James Harden does...repeatedly. There wasn't as much flopping in the late 80's because guys were literally hitting each other.

Tim Hardaway had a famous crossover. You should watch some of his highlights. He is very tight with his dribble and is not loose with the ball like they let current guys play. It's just a different game.

Serious question. With concerns of the virus being what they are and what people project it to be, will we see a lot of non-local kids not making the usual trips this spring/summer and flying in for camps? The QB from Cali and his team not making the trip gets me thinking that it was less about something falling through and more along the lines of them not wanting/being allowed to travel?

Just thinking out loud on what impact this could have on recruiting and when/if we will start to see it

Good thing most of our recruits come from around here

My sources indicate “lamp” but I’m not really sure what that means TBH

Truth. Hadn't really even considered this angle at all till just now. I know personally, my company has mandatory approval required for any international travel and as of now there is no domestic travel stipulations. I would be willing to bet that there will be in the near future though. I bet we see a few less visitors that require flights, especially from the west coast, JMO.

I think you kind of helped my argument. No, nothing has been changed. If the NBA changed their rules and allowed 3 steps after picking up a dribble or carrying the ball, then I can clearly explain to the youth that their rules are different. But, the NBA just prefers to loosely enforce what their rule is. What Lebron did in that video is not an exception. Those kinds of plays are made on a daily basis in the NBA.

But, whatever. It's been fun.

I'm going to Sanibel Island this weekend for a vacay so if everyone else wants to leave that area or just not show up that's cool.

Take advantage. I'm hoping my commute will lighten up and my local golf courses will be a lot less crowded when they open up!

1. Jordan
2. Kobe
3. Magic
4. Bird
5. Kareem
6. Shaq
7. Barkley
8. Dr. J.
9. Ewing
10. Allen Iverson
11. Russell
12. Karl Malone
13. Hakeem
14. Pistol Pete
15. Lebron

How do you have a top 15 and leave off these names?

Jerry West
Oscar Robertson (only player in NBA history in the top 10 in PPG & APG)
John Stockton
Elgin Baylor (one of only two players in top 10 in PPG & RPG)
Wilt Chamberlain (only player in NBA history in the top 3 in PPG & RPG)

Random, but I wonder if we go after Anthony Harris again this class?

He appeared in nine games during the 2019 season, recording 30 tackles, three interceptions, two pass breakups and a half-tackle for loss.

They don't give out championships in the 1st round last I checked.
Yeah last time I checked you had to make it to the finals to win it. The playoffs do not just include the finals. Surely most people on this message board would claim Peyton as the GOAT QB but he didn’t always make the Super Bowl. You cannot legitimately think that losing the finals is worse than losing in the first round. If Jordan is the playoffs goat he’d be 12-0 in the playoffs but he isn’t. He’s 6-6 cause he got booted 6 different times.
Also, you can not argue that Jordan played better teams than LeBron in the finals. The only reason that this is a debate is because LeBron played terribly in the 2011 finals, which I have no explanation for other than he sucked for an all time great player.

Cause I was just throwing names in there until I got to 15 for Lebron 🤷‍♂️ Let me fix it.

15. Wilt
16. Elgin Baylor
17. Stockton
18. West
19.Oscar
20. Lebron

Better?

Both his recruiters from his original recruitment aren't on staff. But if he has another solid season at the JuCo level and has the grades straightened out wonder if he still likes us? I'd lean UNC since he was interested in them as well and that's where he's from, plus with Mack doing some things he might like it better now.

Cause this is a list from someone who does not understand basketball. You cannot legitimately have a list if you leave Tim Duncan off of your top 15 (easy top 10 player). This is just a list of someone posting their favorite players of all time.
