Mind you I haven't taken care of a corona yet, I can only compare it to the other outbreaks like H1N1. If they are ill enough to code you put on your equipment and code em, unless they are on ecmo.
Seems this virus is killing some people really quickly.

This is what I've been saying for a little while. There are signs here and there that Trump is getting briefed and has flashes of recognition that he ought to let the professionals take over on this one. It is unfortunately interrupted by his usual retreat into victimhood and egomania, but hopefully enough folks will tell him he needs to let go on this one that he follows the advice.

I'm guessing triggering FEMA would open up money and resources that bypasses the arguing of Congress.

They ( hospitals ) are turning the nurses into educated robots . I have nothing against higher education, but my problem is when the compassion nurses have for people turn into taking care of “ clients” and they start worrying and the numbers and percentages. bachelors isn’t enough anymore they are pushing masters . That leads to less floor nurses and more administrative nurses .

I'm starting BSN in August after my CCRN next month. I haven't decided to stay where I'm at. If I didn't hate big cities so much I would have accepted a position in dc.

Congress is not the problem here. They are happy to provide resources.

The problem -- and as I say it waxes and wanes over the last 5 days -- is Trump alternately insisting that the attention being paid to this is a hoax which is designed to hurt him politically, versus taking it seriously. Then flipping back to "woe is me" and "I'm the best of all time!" 6 hours later.

That's great, when I was at UAB, there was a ASN to BSN program that took about half the time generally because the clinical aspect, preceptorships etc weren't necessary. Mostly book learnin'. Good luck!

Yeah, but those programs are getting fewer and fewer. RN is just the licensure, until the state changes the requirements to sit for the board anyone who qualifies for the license and passes is an RN. It used to be that most RN's were 2 year degrees, now he hospitals want 4 year. The difference in pay was negligible but if there was a difference the BSN's made more.

No LG Congress is going to argue anything they think they can make Trump look bad on.

What would the bachelor degree have taught her? People keep throwing this stuff out like if you have a BS or BA in anything you're somehow smarter than someone without. I got humbled right out of the gate 40 years ago by a guy that was in the Marines and went through one of their electronics classes. He was smart as hell, but he grew up poor and the Marines made one hell of a man out of him. In the private sector nobody doubted what he told them.
