Well alrighty then. If we must change the subject. lol.

Perfect illustration IMO. That CJP could get them to the point of being asked to attend the combine is a testament to the staff's development and scheming ability. Signing more legit talent will solve the issue.
To be honest, the fact that our coaches put them in the right places to make plays and show up on Saturday's is the ONLY reason they made it to the combine.

And I’ll put DWA in the Kongbo “looks like Tarzan plays like Jane” category. For a guy who aspired to go pro early, he really hurt himself to the point he won’t get drafted.

FOOTBALL RELATED POST:

I greatly value VFL’s like JJ, Bituli, etc. and seeing development of guys like Nigel brings a smile to my face for what the future holds.

Having said that, the combine was an embarrassment for the program. The tape don’t lie, but dang it these were our stars and none of them stood out amongst their peers. No wonder we’ve sucked for so long.

Outside of Callaway you're right.

DT waiting for Pro Day to workout was a smart (and calculated) move. He essentially gave himself an extra 4-6 weeks to prepare for the drills/workouts that he'll be doing.

People are too busy crying, whining, b!tchin over some flopping to see what he has done for other nba players, inner city kids, social justice, etc... (the bigger picture) all because he might be better than some mythical creature named mj.
Well, he’s not better, so that’s not it

how old are you? I only ask because that would explain a lot of your takes.

I really am optimistic that players like Roman Harrison and Jalen McCollough will represent a different class of contributor for the Vols in the coming seasons. No offense intended to many of the starters we've seen over the past decade, but I do expect both the floor and ceiling to rise. The starters have to look more like the top performers at the draft combine for us to conquer the SEC. And no one feels this more than CJP and Coach Fulmer.

Old enough to know people complain when greatness is happening amongst their eyes that they only appreciate it when it’s gone. My takes arent wrong or misguided just because i disagree with the majority on here on this basketball topic. Its funny that some people on here conveniently bring up lbj when he has a blunder. Those same people are always somehow silent when he does something good/great.

Volnation, I am supposed to fly to Rome, Italy for 10 days in roughly 2 weeks. Should I go?

I don’t interpret that as “gathering.” I think the intent was to allow someone a step while bobbling, after a tip, or gathering a pass. You are a poor dribbler if you have to “gather” your own dribble. That’s stretching the intent of the rules.
They updated the definition/rule of gathering last year. Interpretation is obviously very open and I'd guess they are leaning towards leniency.

"For a player who is in control of the ball while dribbling, the gather is defined as the point where a player does any one of the following:
  1. Puts two hands on the ball, or otherwise permits the ball to come to rest, while he is in control of it;
  2. Puts a hand under the ball and brings it to a pause; or
  3. Otherwise gains enough control of the ball to hold it, change hands, pass, shoot, or cradle it against his body"

It is MHO that pretty much all crossovers are palm/carry violations and should be called. Everyone does it now, but it's a joke that it's considered a legal dribble now.

Pretty close. You can cross over without palming, but the 2-3 steps in between dribbles is not real basketball. Allen Iverson had some sweet crossovers, but he may have been the start of the extra hold onto the ball when crossing over.

I am old enough to have seen Dr. J, Bird, Kareem, MJ and Magic play. With that said, LBJ is not on their level. He is not even on Kobe's (RIP) level. He is a very good player, but he is a better man. I applaud him for setting the example. No scandals...no baby mama's. How many men do you know that have been with the same woman since HS? That says a lot about his character, loyalty, and morals. When he retires, which may be soon, he will be remembered as a very good player. I think where he will transcend MJ and the others, is life after basketball. He has started to make his mark in that arena, and that is before he even retires.

Hahahahahahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Dude is in this 17th or 18th SEASON and will LEAD the league in assists. Gonna end up da 1 seed in the west. Hell, he might win the MVP too.

How many of the aforementioned names has ever done this?

I didn’t say LBJ wasn’t great. But sure... put the laugh emojis and talk about “hate”... cause that’s cool
So you insinuated lbj isnt great and/or you don’t appreciate his greatness because you are a hater of him. I put the 😂 because it’s comical that some people would rather try and be right than get it right. And your comment is a prime example. Take your loss and move along please...183E67F9-BC1D-440D-B7FA-08013D300C13.jpeg

His flopping has nothing to do with what he does off the court. Those aren't mutually exclusive. I can say that he does a lot of good for people, and I have appreciated his recent words for the game's young stars. But I can still believe that his flopping is obnoxious. It's not basketball. He is being a drama king. LBJ loves the attention, and he's been doing that for ages. From his "Decision" to his mocking Dirk Nowitzki being sick in the Finals one year. That's just his style. He is not above some criticism for it.

I am sure you are going to have some SA response, but everyone, even MJ and Kobe, has their faults. LBJ is a great basketball player, but I don't have to like him.
